I agree that this will never surpass Cavalry. But that doesn’t mean that this doesn’t deserve a 5/5, alongside Militia due to how good they are at holding cities. (If enemy AI knew how to use Militia effectively, each level would be far harder) That only happens when they have no options left or prepaded to surrender

They shouldn’t have exist by the late 1800s but yes best infantry units in this game

They shouldn’t have exist by the late 1800s but yes best infantry units in this game I believe they are even better than in the prequel. Especially availability-wise because they only require Level 2 tech. Which means they can be researched almost right away.

Old Guards are indeed a pain to deal with, especially in the Franco-Prussian war history mission... 2 generals that you need to take down. At least we have Steinmetz and Co. to aid us
