Their stats are really good for their price. 81 atk, 56 def, 14 move and 285 HP puts New Infantry to shame. It's just that their gear isn't that good. I still like cold weapon more than rifle and they don't get the medium armor that makes Breastplate Cavalry into massive tanks. I'd either be using Light Cavalry or Breastplate Cavalry. Most likely Light Cavalry. Atleast it has the best ability in the game, like all cavalry have.

Now i am confused, is breastplate cavarly or this better. Because this actually do not have the awful weaknesses of breastplate cavarly but take more damage from infantry. Its pretty good and cheap imo.

Both are great but be aware that the latter is considerably more expensive than the former.

But until you get them, Hunting Cavalry are good to fight the enemy units. Unless you are holding a city, then of course you should spam militia.

I have a dissenting opinion.
Hunting Cavalry aren't the best option for any role, well, at least, for line doctrine. It's outclassed by Light Cavalry (inc. Hungarian Hussars & Cossacks) for harassing infantry and it's not tanky enough for front line duty. It's more of a heavy flanking unit with no defined role.
UNLESS: You're facing machine gunners and flamethrowers. Then, you'd want hunting cavalry over breastplate cavalry because light armor suffers less damage from those weapons.

Well said, I always make the fatal mistake of engaging lmg/ft generals with my breastplate cav gens... not worth the counter

Or if you are fighting along the coastline, navy deals massive damage against medium armor

Hunting Cavalry is more economic choice than Cuirassier.

I've never bothered recruiting any of these. Light armor, so is light cavalry. Their steps could go upto 18 with certain marching bulge techs versus this guy. Short on money? Light cavalry.
Have some money? Save them for breastplate cavalry. Medium armor, better protected against normal infantry and more HP to tank artillery. A wild HMG appears? Light cavalry or infantry. A wild AC appears? Artillery.
Though this is just my take on them. If given any at the start, I used to pit them against those with heavy machine guns (HMGs & ACs) but with the update, I'm able to do so against light machine guns only.
