I have tried playing USA 1812 twice. First time I got a "B" ranking. Second time, I had the Mexicans take over the South and West (and they are now nibbling at Washington and NY). How do you defend against the Mexicans while your generals are all busy in Canada taking over the country?
Thanks!

How do you defend against the Mexicans while your generals are all busy in Canada taking over the country? Thanks! 1. Conquer canada faster, if it feels slow. 2. Leave some infantry for defense for mexico. 3. Prioritize saving money for militia defense.

Militia spam in mexico while focusing your main army on defeating canada. Or if you have strong generals, you can attack both at the same time. It really does not make a huge difference. The point is to have tons of militia budget while also donating to poland here and there

I got an A first try with good generals. It took me about 40 rounds to wipe out Canada and Mexico. My generals near the Mexican border died pretty fast, so good generals here won’t help too much. Make sure to put militia on the coast cities! Luckily, my artillery general survived and almost single handily took Mexico City. After that, Mexico is basically done. Canada is probably even easier. The starting American generals here are all pretty good, so I didn’t put and extra generals, I just took Montreal and Ottawa real fast and held on to Detroit. The Canadian generals aren’t very good, so I didn’t put super expensive troops to defend. By round 45ish North America should have fallen, I disbanded all my troops except my artillery general who went to Havana and then to Morocco because my Algerian ally was getting recked, and managed to take a city(that is very important) I then spammed grenadiers cuz my economy was booming to take that British Island and from there I upgraded the city and built a Stable and a factory. I then spammed grenadiers and heavy cavalry to Spain and took A Coruna. Portugal and Spain fell pretty easily, just make sure to have plenty of blasts and plenty of artillery. I then sent my Spanish troops to Africa and Morocco fell within 15 rounds. I then did the same thing and spammed troops to Ireland. By this time, my allies launched the largest amphibious invasion in history and took London in 3 rounds. I think I could have gotten an S because I delayed the war effort by around 10 rounds by relying on Algeria to take Egypt, and they couldn’t, so I had to help them there. I was pretty lucky since my allies(mostly Bavaria) wrecked the Eastern Coalition countries real fast. Over the war, I donated to France and Bavaria several hundreds at a time.
Hope this helps

This country used to be my favorite in 1812 before I found that Mexico is quite faster.
