Are they all completely or mostly worthless? I just finished US 1812. Algeria 'forgot' one Moroccan city. So, after finishing off Spain, I had to run to Morocco. Meanwhile, all the rest of my Allies 'noticed' -- coincidentally -- the same time I turned my attention there. Of course, they mostly got in the way, keeping me from doing very much about it. It probably took me an extra 3 - 5 turns to get around my so called allies. Needless to say, Algeria could not be bothered to do anything about the situation. They were too busy conquering almost all of Spain, being sure to leave a few cities for me.
Rant over. Thanks for listening to me vent.

The ally AI is intentionally made to be braindead. That's a good game design decision for the sake of difficulty. What I don't like is that the AI likes to upgrade cities and buildings randomly, that makes speedrunning 1812 and 1815 a matter of luck instead of skill. Pretty annoying.
But yeah, I've had enough of those moments where Sweden just couldn't figure out how to take Copenhagen in my 1798 runs.

Actually, for me, in conquests where I am an isolated country, my allies wreck my enemies. Without them, S ranks are almost impossible. The same cannot be said about my allies in most campaigns and challenges tho...

The same cannot be said about my allies in most campaigns and challenges tho... It could be that you're harassing the enemy's rear which diverts attention away from your allies. Then, your allies can more easily overwhelm the enemy. It's just a guess.

But still, conquests loke 1812 and 1815 needs you yourself to do the work alone.

Itโs the opposite for me, in 1812 and 15 I donโt have to do much, just clear out my area, while in other conquests I have to take over so much.

They should have it easier since there are many advantages so far.

Yes, just finished Naples 1815 and it was really easy in Europe until Bavaria screwed us over and then gets wrecked. My US allies were incompetent but at least Brazil annihilated Gran Colombia. Finished, in 103 rounds

I am so unlucky, when I play as Eagle country, Denmark loses and when I play as Coalition country, Swedan loses. It is annoying to fight and exhaust my troops at the front. I was happily having Blitzkrieg through enemy shattering their city by city but suddenly those Viking descendants stop me on my tracks. Have you guys faced such nasty situations?

That's normal if you're starting out or on the 1812 or 1815 conquests. A tip to alter the Scandinavian Gambit in your favour is to donate resources to your ally to ensure that the ally wins. Then, the Scandinavian armies will descend on the mainland and swing the war or speed it up.
