Am I the only one who noticed that guard grenadiers changed weapons in the russian campaign? Or is this some kind of bug?

There was a change of weapon: in EW6 1806 they had muskets but in 1914 they have LMG... Cossacks had a lance, but in 1914 they were equipped with sabres. It is nice of course that ET make such changes, but I don't think it was really necessary. Besides, grenadiers with LMG are not to anyone's taste anyway

The first russian mission actually has guard grenadiers with musket. But the rest of the russian missions GG are equipped with LMG.

Most lances were changed to cold weapon (sabres and the like) I believe. I dont think guard grenadiers would have muskets though in ew6:1914, kaidus do you have a picture of the mentioned campaign?

I noticed it from the beginning, they are equipped with muskets in 19th century version(before the GREAT WAR). In 20th century, they are equipped with light machine guns. IMO I favour Old Guards due to their high defence and resistance.

Probably sounds a bit weird but that’s just me. I like spears. Grenadiers with LMGs are awesome. I don’t know if they make sense historically but it’s so much better than Rifle in this game.

I think for units before certain years or generally before WW1, muskets are commonly used.
Then, ET made them switch it out for different and better arms.

I don't why, but I feel Guard Grenadiers to be excellent in flanking and having a breakthrough, they could easily kill those artillery and encircle them.
