3 Star: USA, France
2 Star: Japan
1 Star: South Korea (a bit luck based but generally okay)
Generally NATO are better than WTO. When playing as WTO countries, the NATO spam is a pain in the backside...

P.S. France 1950 is more fun than USA because you get in the action straight away... ignore Europe, the starting generals are practically useless. Start the fight in Asia by killing off Thailand, PRC, while sending another group to attack the Soviet Union from behind.
