The basics:- Trading is aviable in cities with the β symbol
- the trading ratio is 1:5
- the trading βs of a general in this city lower the extra charge you loose when changing gold iron and food.
- without a General you will be charged a fee of 200% extra
- with a 5βtrade general you won't loose anything by changing resource types
- in the center you see the important β multiplier
Rates:0 β *3.0 (+200% charge) 1 β *2.6 (+160% charge) 2 β *2.2 (+120% charge) 3 β *1.8 (+80% charge) 4 β *1.4 (+40% charge) 5 β *1.0 (free of charge)
And now - important exceptions:- The left button in the bottom row (selling π§ for 10π°) will give you a better rate due to rounding.
- A general with high nobility and at least 2β always gets a 4 β Rate! The bar shows 3β instead of 2 but look at the important β multiplier in the middle: β x1.4 - the 4β rate!
- If you combine the first two hints you can sellπ§ with a 2β general without any loss! (10π° for 2π§)
- A general without any β is better than no general and will get at least a 1β rate.
Keep this in mind before investing in business trainer and for your trade in conquests.

This tip can be very useful in the beginning of a campaign mission or a conquest - you get often quite a lot π§ at the beginning: With 50π° and 200π§ for example you can build an armored car ...

That's quite impressive! Did you know that a general with the encyclopedia or Napoleon code you get much more income form a lower city then your own capital.

That's quite impressive! Did you know that a general with the encyclopedia or Napoleon code you get much more income form a lower city then your own capital. The effect of the Napoleonic code on small cities is not this big as it (almost) doubles your income - even on a lvl5 city you just get 60π° with NC. This is equal to the smallest capital I know for now (Amsterdam) Using NC on big cities and capitals is making the money.

Yes, plus putting them on economic master will boost greatly. Also if you have level 7 city and if your general has defensive art the campaign/conquer is easier.

The cap is sadly at one, but still having good trading ability early on will be very helpful.

Definitely, and trading can help you gain more units and a better chance of victory overall.

That's weird ,because Napoleon made that code so his French Empire could deal with finance and increase the army.
