Hi everyone.
I wanted to know what is your opinion about infantry generals. I think they were most useful in WC3. I have started play WC4 recently, and I've noticed that the game is basicly only about tank generals. Is it still worthit, buy any infantry general?

They are the cheapest so you spend lots of resources. I would get Yamashita as he is one of the best infantry generals in WC4.

Infantry generals are mostly useless. The only one you should ever get is Rundstedt as he is the cheapest one that can be good.

I have started play WC4 recently, and I've noticed that the game is basicly only about tank generals. Is it still worthit, buy any infantry general? I personally think their usefulness is limited. But I think they can be best used to get behind enemy lines and create trouble, such as attacking low hp towns and taking them. But the AI sometimes has a habit of spawning a unit so I always send additional infantry units so they can reduce the town hp to 0 so my infantry general does max damage. If I kill the unit I have a third infantry unit take the city. Note: This was when I had an infantry general. Also I agree with you, it seems to be mainly a tank general type of game. I'm actually considering just having a tank general roster simply because infantry is borderline useless, artillery has limited mobility, air generals range is limited and naval isn't really needed except for port defense and attacking isolated locations like Hawaii and Midway.

Welcome all to the forum! oconquistador, happy first post too just having one infantry general is sufficient to help you in any circumstance. There's no need for more than one unless you are really struggling with the infantry only domination exercises/battles. And for that sole infantry general you should get the best of the best, namely Yamashita, or if you are price-conscious Rundstedt would suffice. Or you could save big time by relying on Konev's raider and infantry stars, which can get the job done pretty well too

yeah, I also think the same. Probably using an infantry general just to hold citys in the very beggening, when playing with a country with low income. Naval can be very used in conquest, but only with some nations, like the US/Japan, or de UK trying to hold Germany's Rush. Well, and also the pacific campaign.

I use Konev and he's almost as good as Rundstedt with Lvl 3 rumour and lvl 1 guerilla.

I've been able to clear all infantry invasions with Konev. I don't think even Yamashita would do much better.

Konev is indeed the most powerful hybrid general (as we would call him). However, with (a lot) of grinding you could upgrade Yamashita to be really good too. At peak status, Yamashita is better than Konev, but I think you would rather use those medals on generals with a higher return like Guderian and ... well, Konev, instead. Btw, welcome to the forum! I hope you'll find this place useful as you make progress (or help other people make progress) in this and other games!

So, as of now I have 1241 medal to blow. When I get tomorrow’s invasions done I’ll have enough to buy Rundstedt or Dowding. Should I buy one of those or keep saving/upgrading?

If you already have the necessary tank/artillery/navy components of your generals I suggest you save up to get Yamashita, or Arnold if you don't have him. Rundstedt's kinda bad, and Dowding's only really useful in scenarios.

I kinda want Dowding, but I don’t think I need 2 air gens. I guess Yamashita it is to break Siberia/Africa/South America
