This is like my fourth restart of the game, and like in the past saves, I’m entering Chapter 4 (Ottoman campaign) and I have a gold drought. My team is decent (Skill-swapped maxed Grant, maxed Moltke, maxed Hotzendorf and maxed Aosta), but I’m afraid that I won’t be able to max future generals or keep up with the current tech limit without suffering gold droughts.
Is there any good method of avoiding them? I’m trying to collect conquest rewards which do help, but the tech gets more expensive every time and I know there will be a point where conquest rewards won’t be enough. I always try to max the current tech before doing a chapter since I assume that the enemy units will have maxed current tech. Can someone confirm if this is true? If not, then it can help avoiding droughts since the resources I gain from doing the missions might be enough to max the tech before I jump into the next chapter.

Well, i would have advised against focusing on grant moltke and the duke of aosta. But at only chapter 4, i highly doubt that your gens are maxed like you said. Ive gone pretty far into the game, and never gotten any real gold droughts. Usually through daily rewards and the mission things where u send a couple of ur gens out, i get enough gold. Honestly focus on your mobility tech, and then my preferance would be damaged and health. Once you start doing challenge campgaign, thats also the point where you would need lots of gold. The good thing is, once u max ur tech, u never have to look back. Also, challenge campaign give a crap ton of gold both in the mission itself and the star rewards. Ive easily gotten 11 of my generals battle ready. They all have lvl 4 or 5 skills and high rank too.

Actually, I’ve restarted again, and I’m trying a new system: Only getting the best general of x category and that is from x nationality, according to the chapter. (Of course I will be using the other generals, I will just prioritize the ones listed here in each chapter) For example: Chapter 1, I will get Lee and Jackson to Prince. Chapter 2: Ludendorff, Beseler and Hipper. Chapter 3: Ivanov. Chapter 4: Nobody (Ottoman Empire has no gold generals) Chapter 5: Haig, Plumer and Beatty. Chapter 6: Straussenburg (TBH I wish we could get Denta and Benedek, too, they are very good) Chapter 7: Stepanovic Chapter 8: Nobody (I don’t remember which country we play as here, I think it’s Bulgaria, but I’m sure it doesn’t have gold generals) Chapter 9: Petain, Joffre, Foch Chapter 10: Nobody (Italy doesn’t have any gold generals)

Is it always the same, or is it a few campaigns higher than the corresponding normal campaign?

I got so much gold from challenge campgaign that i brought every single frickin item from the store. Then i saved up a lot of gold, and when the update came around with like 15 new items, i bought them all at a time.(besides one cuz i ran out of money but u get the point )

On the contrary, did u guys know that Challenge conquest tech difference is base on your tech and if didn’t upgrade any tech (fresh account) it’s actually easier? I meant the difference between: Enemy tech Ally techs Players Tech

I meant the difference between: Enemy tech Ally techs Players Tech Well, that surely doesn’t mean that I can beat Challenge 1861 with just German tech (Yet with fantastic generals).
