For Part 1, I'll be analysing the strategic and tactical outlooks and shifts.
A) Italian-Germanic threatre:
- Rome is alone, but has troops readied for a campaign. - Not all Germanic tribes join immediately, but there are 5 hostile tribes. - There is a neutral tribe, the Cimbri. - There is a swing state - the Roxolani.
If you have spare resources at the end of a Turn, try to delay some of these tribes from entering.
DO NOT induce the Cimbri to join if the situation is not decisively in favour. The Cimbri can open a 2nd front and may even knock out the Cherusci capital on their own, but do not expect continued success if they are left alone.
____________________________________________________________
B) Italian-Balkans theatre
- Likely where the bulk of troops on Italian soil will be deployed. - The 1st point where the Han cav in European will meet the Roman legions. - There is a swing country, Odrysia, present. - The rogue country, Scythia, is present and occupies Byzantium and Tomis. - The Han faction is backed up by the Boii and Dacia. - Roman Illyria is isolated.
Rome's battle capability here is limited, even with reinforcements from Italy. Illyria is doomed and if it falls, Aquileia is next. The fall of this Roman city opens up Italy itself to an invasion from the East. When Scythia joins, the Bosphorus, Greece and Anatolia will come under threat.
Nothing less than a direct military intervention is recommended in salvaging Greece as a staging ground for a counterattack to rescue Italy.
Seizing Byzantium provides 2 choices: - Sail to Greece to stop the Han faction's invasion and counterattack or - Invade Tomis and Argedava to attack Dacia directly, wipe out Scythia and hit the enemy rear.
Note: If you march troops across Odrysian land, the swing state will start to prepare for war against you.
__________________________________________________________
C) Black Sea-Parthia theatre
- Rome's allies are all found here. - Roman Syria and Egypt posses some elite troops. Rome is likely to divert most of its resources here. - The Bosphorus has access to the Han's border cities in Europe. - Parthia is surrounded by enemies.
Focus on the weakest link in the Han faction: Parthia. Work with your allies to collapse this overstretched empire to take over the resources of a 3* power.
Spam slinger and auxiliary inf to repel elite troops and common troops respectively.
Let the Bosphorus join later to attack the Han's rear. However, when you have excess resources and Scythia and the Roxolani have joined, spam troops to assist.
Let Albania join later to attack the nearby Han city while you attack Phasis first to have a base right in the Caucasus.

I haven’t played many conquests yet, but every additional guide is appreciated. I’ve reached the last chapter, so I’ll be ready to focus on conquests soon.

I'm turning to Conquests because I've faced difficulty in clearing the last chapter and earning 3* clears on campaigns in earlier ones. Anyways, it's best to focus on the Punic Wars and Caesar's Time eras if you turn to Conquest for medals.

But I expect it’ll become much harder. The other chapters are only perfect until “Caesar’s civil war”. So there’s still a lot to play. I just tried to progress as fast as possible, since a fast 15 medal victory is paying more than struggling for the last secondary targets. Actually I don’t need the conquests for grinding. Optimised adds and Senat missions make at least 100medals per day. I just follow the achievement list for banners and scrolls: Carthage and Macedonia in Punic wars and Pompey in Caesar time, all only rate II. The next on the list is a victory in Augustus time, 2 more hard lvl countries and rate III wins. Now, with the maximum of 8 deployable gens I should be able to progress. In Punic wars Illyria, Aetolia and Cyrene look like the easier hard lvl. Does Rate III only depend on rounds or is it a matter of finishing resources, too?

It hinges on Turns taken, but we're uncertain of the effect of resources accumulated. Rate calculation is also supposedly influenced by number of troops fielded. It's said that the more units are fielded, the better your score. However, this was not thoroughly explored. This guide and conquest is not recommended if one wishes to earn a Rate 3 clear.

Thanks, I’ll find it out sooner or later. I hope rounds have the biggest influence, because I like to disband units when they’re too far away from a front.

The roman side of strike from han is surprisingly easy. I am about to finish the last mission on roman side in three stars (i have 3star streak before in this mission) but some bug destroyed everything, i killed all objective generals but it says that i didnt killed all.

The rounds and generals deployed primarily affects this one. Its like it depends on how fast turns can do with x number of gens deployed in order to reach rate III.

So it equals chance for beginners who don’t have the max of 8 gens yet.
