Generals used: Guderian, Rommel, Graziani, Konev, Nimitz, Arnold and Dowding. All generals maxed except for Arnold and Dowding.
After finally figuring out Cuba 1950, I thought I'd take a crack at Iraq 1980 to see how difficult it was. It was anything but tbh.
TURN 1
We start off with two level one star ranked units. I put Guderian on the heavy and Konev on the rocket artillery. I move Konev south to the cactuses two tiles north of Riyadh. I move Guderian onto the tile with di in it (from Saudi). They will attack the terrorist general on the infantry unit first, then hit Riyadh after he's killed. Any nearby cities that were at 0 hp, I paratrooped them.
In Baghdad, I built a military Academy and built a triple stacked heavy tank and put Rommel on it. He will assist in taking cities to the west, and eliminating enemy units.
TURN 10
After taking Saudi Arabia off of terrorists hands, I move Guderian and Rommel north past Baghdad and into Soviet territory. I saved for a triple stacked heavy and put Graziani on it. All three will assist allies in Europe. Konev will move east to assist allies in Asia, as well as an infantry unit to take cities once Konev reduces hp to 0. Stacked infantry unit is optional.
When I had the funds, I dropped two paratroopers in Africa to take cities. While Egypt is an ally, they hit cities but didn't capture them. So we have to do what they were supposed to. After this, move the paratroopers to attack remaining cities with hp.
TURN 20
The cities in Africa should remain largely undefended (no terrorist unit spawning), including the port in the south.
With Rommel and Guderian working around the Balkans, I built a triple stacked rocket artillery and put Dowding on it to defend against terrorist units.
Up in the north, I was able to paratroop Berlin, so I built a triple stacked rocket artillery and put Arnold on it. His air stars will speed things up in Europe. I paratrooped any city within reach, I even grabbed London and Machester.
TURN 30
By turn 30, I had all of South America with the help of missiles and strategic bombers, Cuba and a city in Mexico. Konev, along with India and Thailand are carving a path through terrorist Asia. Pretty much from this point, I finished the conquest with missiles and strategic bombers rather than my generals.
TURN 38
By turn 38, I have wiped terrorists off the map land-wise, now all that's left is liberating ports. I dropped paratroopers in place than missiled the terrorist naval unit to death, than used my unit to take the port.
TURN 40
I believe one of the keys to any successful conquest is to wipe the enemy out of Europe, as it's full of resource rich cities.
This was surprisingly easy for a 1 star, and honestly thought it'd be harder. But it was still fun. Won in 40 turns.
