Darth Vader , oh I just forgot Tom's how you this about Season 1. The following extract comes from the TVtropes page for Meta Runner: " Moment of Awesome: Not only did Meta Runner earn $500,000 through Epic Games' Unreal Dev Grants, but the series also gained funding through both Crunchyroll and the Australian government! Yes, an internet cartoon is being funded by Australian taxpayers. And this was all pre-release, which shows just how much faith and interest the show developed. And all of this good faith wasn't unfounded, either. It managed to hit #16 on trending for gaming on the day of release, and got to #20 on trending, period, the following day. Episode 10, the Season One finale, managed to get to #13 in trending the day after its release, beating out the trending mark of the first episode."

It will probably even be as Popular as android!

Darth Vader , yeah, the show got a lot of appreciation and popularity. Despite of that, it also caused a bit of a division in the community. Again, I will quote TVtropes in matter of this: ” Broken Base: Some people are quite hyped and excited for SMG4 to be releasing his own web series (outside of his main videos and Guards N *Auto Corrected*s). Other people think it looks lame and/or like a ripoff of a more famous web animation.” (the series in matter being RWBY) ” They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Some fans are rather disappointed about how the show focuses more on the plot and characters rather than world building the concept of a world where video games are everything, which was used as a heavy advertising point for the show to them.” (fragments extracted from TVtropes, using the following link tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/YMMV/MetaRunner)

After a bit of research, I managed to get some concept art related to the show. This one for example is the first version of Tari, based on the drawings of Luke and Kevin's younger sister.

CountVonNumenor, those are cool drawings! It looks like fan art but I can't tell; it's interesting how much popularity this show has!

Some more interesting facts, extracted from TVtropes about Meta Runner and SMG4 // Glitch Productions as a whole: Moe: ”Due to the animation in this series giving more attention to detail than the bloopers, Tari gets to really stand out as just adorable, as exemplified here”(referring to the first clip related to the series to be released, a sneak peak on Episode 2) One Mario Limit: ”The name "Tari" comes to mind the blue-haired Gamer Chick from Meta Runner and SMG4's Mario Bloopers. Speaning of which, the "Meaghan/Megan/Meghan" nickname "Meggy" brings to mind the Inkling-turned-human girl from the latter series.” Also, a bit of an update: Darth Vader, since you were asking about the release of Season 2, I found out checking the wiki that it might come out towards the end of this year, or early next year. My prediction is that we could get some sort of "secret video" during the 2020 edition of War of the Fat Italians (just as it happened in 2018), followed by a few shorts in the spring of 2021 and the season itself coming out next summer.

Looks like this kinda died out. From now on, I might lift the spoiler-free policy.

Huge news for everyone interested in this series. SMG4 just organised a Q&A on the Meta Runner subreddit, and the news are absolutely wonderful. Next season is confirmed for later this year.
