basically need to know a couple things:
1) which generals to buy and what is the optimal order i should get them in (artillery prob the most important im assuming)
2) which game modes should i focus on completing: should i finish campaign first and then try conquest? not sure what history does
3) how should i spend my gold? i was reading and people said better to not waste gold on generals because it'll be important later on
4) best campaign/conquest mission to farm medals, gold and exp

So buy an art gen, complete the civil war missions, its easy to clear, as et also gives you free generals. Then next either buy another art gen(hindenburg/beseler/ivanov) or a cavalry gen(johnston/plumer). You will get many free gens like jackson, so atleast you will have some solid lineup. Next you have to replace your crap grant, so buy straussenburg. Now you have good gens in art/cav/inf so its yours who you will get. My recommendations are: art(all i mentioned plus leopold) cav(also what i mentioned above, you will have jackson so its good now) inf(boroevic and lee). For navy, its yours when you will need a strong navy gen, so if you need, go to hipper. 2) ok, this one is bit hard to answer, but, first, go finish chapters 1-2, as its only a pie, then finish conquest achievements while finishing other campaigns. When it comes for conquest challenge and history, idk if tech matters all, so if you want to get all these items and stuff, i guess try to complete them also, but i think, regardless of tech the history/cc difficulties doesnt change. Its yours, you will decide what you will do in the game. tips: in campaigns, i suggest complete the normal campaigns first, then after you finalized tech, do challenge campaigns. 3) when spending gold, you have two options. One, if you want getting the random awards in history mode asap, throw them at history mode gens. Otherwise, spend them in upgrades(tech, esp. mobility; and general upgrades). One priority is buy ambulances, as they are much much important in the game, so i guess prioritize it first. Then throw some extra money on atk items. 4) unlike 1804, theres not much to farm here, but if you want to farm stuff like textbooks, medpacks and more, play austro prussian war and franco prussian war in history mode. Theres some guide (from crosby) that helps you how to farm these. Medpacks now is somehow easy to earn, as there are some good challenge conquests in 1861-1865. Disclaimer: i guess there some point here that you cant understand, so if you cant understand something in my post, just ask it. |

i think i start off with 300 medals, is there any way to get lots of them fast other than just by doing campaign? does history or conquest give me medals?
also what does history mode give me? how can i spend gold in history?

Play history mode when you completed most of the campaign missions, history mode is hard and you cant use your generals at all.

I would complete my main roster before tackling History Mode, since in many missions you are forced to use bad or mediocre generals. |

tribal union in 1914 is not that bad tbh, ur units are weak but once you take north africa, you are fine.
when i played them, i tried to take north africa and i moved onto italy. i moved up and i took each city and when i got the cities in the north i turned left to take france. once you reach spain/france border i split army so some went to portugal and rest went to uk
