I read more of the canonical English classics in my childhood, and for that I didnt really have an idol since most of the characters portrayed were quite complex. I found myself comfortable with identifying with Axel Lindenbrock of Journey to the Centre of the Earth by Jules Vernes. Just something from way back that I rarely reminisce these days

I couldn't rember his name but in the moment I read Lidenbrock - yesss!!! One of my favorite characters! As (I hope I'm correct) you are from Asia I'd like to ask if you are familiar with the books of Astrid Lindgreen?

For many years, my heroes were most of the time protagonists of the Jules Verne books. I had quite a hard time reading fairy tales, especially in the early years of school (I always preferred Jules Verne or scientific works over fairy tales and fantasy), but in the recent years I got more opened towards these, especially after reading The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. These days, it is much easier for me to get my heroes/idols, even if technically I got over the age of childhood (turned 18 a few months ago). Recently, my favorite heroes/characters have been Anya Borzakovskaya (from the graphic novel by Vera Brosgol) and now Tari, the protagonist of Meta Runner and major character in the SMG4 Mario bloopers series.
Kind of interesting how recently my favorite characters/heroes have been females, quite a shift from what I used to enjoy before.

ironmarshal1805, seems like you are a fan of the Clones, and the Grand Army of the Republic by extension. Also, ATLA is a wonderful animated series.
