Hello everybody, has someone already done the Peru 1861 Challenge and can give me tips in short lines how to do it? I tried countless different strategies but without success. The only thing that can be done is to keep South America up to round 400. I find no way to expand from South America because sooner or later there will be a lack of resources. Very grateful for any helpful information

The only thing that can be done is to keep South America up to round 400. I find no way to expand from South America because sooner or later there will be a lack of resources. Very grateful for any helpful information Hii, among all the challenge conquests from 1861 to 1917 Peru is one of the easiest in my opinion, if not at least an average conquest Here's how you can have a better chance at winning: The trick for all one star nations is bribing. Luckily for us, one star countries require less resources to bribe countries into the war earlier, or prevent enemies from joining the war so soon. This means that as Peru, you can constantly keep Canada/Spain out of the war, whilst "persuading" France and Mexico to join in earlier so that you are able to receive a helping hand in South America, and prevent USA from crumbling so quickly by allowing the Mexicans to engage the confederates. After rushing through Colombia and Venezuela in 5-7 turns, send two units; one to camp near the Spanish capital (ideally one navy general and one high hp gen), and a huge fleet to land in Richmond. After establishing a foothold in Richmond, send all generals to wipe out the Confederates as fast as you can, while leaving one general and a few troops to defend against the Canadians and the British. If you are nimble enough, you may even capture Washington/New York, and defend from there. Once the confederates go, defeating the iroquoi will be straightforward since they are precariously surviving on a few cities. At that juncture, there will be no immediate help for Spain who will be overwhelmed by Cuba and France, and after that you have two major powers, France and Mexico, helping you in pushing back the Canadians and the British.

Thanks Bing for your answer.
I tried it more or less that way.
Mexico will be there immediately after the payment. However, they are mostly overrun by the southern states. After defeating Columbia and Venezuela I send 1 gen (mostly Cavalary) and the one ship with one gen too towards Richmond. In most cases the USA has unfortunately already drawn the shorter one and when I took Richmond I didn't have the money to build up the troops so quickly or the English + Canadians completely encircled me.
And then I lose the strength of the general compared to the mass of the opponents.
It was clear to me with the bribe that this must lead to the goal. However, I have not yet found out what to give whom and when. Since the money is very little in the beginning.
I had never tried that with Spain. Have to see how I handle it.
Do you put a general on all starting troops?

Do you put a general on all starting troops? not all, just the key, useful ones. Try sending more gens (incl artillery) to Richmond, seems like your landing party is too weak. You should be able to build up a good amount of income with 4 cities captured from Venezuela and Colombia.

I did this one by: Defeat Colombia and Venezuela. Set two art gen + inf Def line on coast Light cav gen + art gen into Mexico.
Hold against naval attacks. Steal US cities with tactic cards and defeat rest of US. I got smashed in the water trying to for Richmond.
You do not deploy inf Gen. Navy gen is optional.

The way of Bings is in no way possible for me. In round 1, I bribe Mexico, France, Canada and DOW to Columbia. First attack the right city of Bogota. Put a gen on artillery, on cavalry and the inf or ship. With luck, Colombia and Venezuela were defeated in round 6-7. Sometimes better sometimes worse. Now comes the problem of building units and continuing to bribe. I can do it max. 2 times Canada. Or I concentrate on Spain. The sending 2 units to the Spanish capital mostly ends with the death of both when Spain enters the war and spams. I use the existing navy and one unit. Both with Gen. Unfortunately, France does not come to my help. They prefer to fight with the Spanish fleet on the far right. And if I manage to take the capital, Cuba has already drawn the shorter one. On the other theater of war, depending on how much money is available, I send almost the entire troop to Richmond. Mostly at turn 12-13 I manage to take the capital. But can only hold 2-3 laps. After that I'm surrounded and you can't build as many troops or use the 3-4 gene units for expansion / defense. If that should be so easy I wonder where my mistake is. My techs are at maximum level. I don't use medi. The main generals actually have good attack and healing The variant of valdemar also only works well for a while as long as the opponent is scattered. As soon as they have sensed the gens, the death circle begins to tighten here as well. The tactic of venturing far inland with the Cav to take abandoned cities usually ends with getting away rather than acting strategically. Does anyone know a vid where you can watch it? You have to be pretty lucky that the constellation allows you to win. Or can you both do this again and again on your respective strategy?

Strange, most players' find Peru difficult because they decided to head up Mexico, and due to the swift defeat of USA and the Mexican offensive there would have been a huge spam of Canadian and Confederate troops to make passing through Mexico impossible. But sure, if you dont meet this scenario then you are pretty much good to go for securing a foothold into USA

No one else who has another way or suggestion. With a few screens to get an idea of it?

Art destroy cities and enemy generals, Cav goes for everything else. Actuallyy most mid-west cities are low health meaning art mainly target enemy generals. But in the water the British just destroy me.

Here's my general plan.Rush Columbia and Venezuala within 5 or 6 turns.Make your best generals sail through Spanish Empire(Mistook Cuba, oops)French can help with that. The Spanish reinforcements can be sustained with militias as you capture their capital. The only way to buy time for the collapse of Union is when both Lee and the artillery general go into the sea for some reason.GB will be getting strong reinforcements NE of the map in turn 25 so make sure to land and cripple CSA beforehand.Be prepared for waves of calvary from 3 sides(Canada,GB and Iroquois).Once you successfully repel them, and capture their capitals you have already won the war.One tip is to send 1 or 2 generals en route Mexico since they will be suffering from heavy attacks and wont bother defending their cities. The french reinforcements can defeat the GB ones(Turn 27 or so if I rmb right).I didnt bribe my enemies out also since there really isnt need for that.Lastly, godspeed

I was finally able to do it. A mixture of both strategies. Via Mexico and rush towards Richmond. I bribe Mexico and try to keep Canada and the UK from entering the war. I defeat Colombia and Venezuela in round 7-9. Send one ship with general and another unit (with / without general) to the capital of Spain. When Spain joins the war, the French ships that are nearby will simply continue towards South America instead of going straight to the capital ?! Stupid script.
With some luck you can take Spain out of the race early.
The prerequisite was that you defeat Spain relatively early and that Cuba is still alive. They help to draw the mass of the opponent on the east coast of America while slowly getting rid of the opponents above Mexico. However, I had to use medi on the 4-5 generals because they would not have survived the "less" opponents in America. I was able to take Richmond. But I cannot hold because the mass of the opponents is too large.
So I don't understand how to capture and hold Richmond. Without going in parallel across Mexico. Just doesn't work with 4 generals and spawn units every round. Have now started over 70 attempts and fail again and again !?
Would like to see a few screens or better a vid how to do that.

Hmm not going up mexico and instead rushing Richmond triggers the AI to head towards mexico instead, and leave a large but manageable force to engage my troops. I recall it was possible to hold them off, perhaps you are not fast enough to capture and defend the open and empty American cities (e.g. New York, Washington, RIchmond)

GG!There was a few times where French just lay waste around the waters of South America. However, having Spain around can trigger the French to be more active in the war.Once you land on Cuba and Spain, the enemy ai will either head towards you or just send some of them but the main force march towards mexico. The latter one is much desirable as you will be able to catch some breaths and strengthen your economy. The main problem of Peru is that it's practically impossible to save Union from a flank from three enemies(hopeless techs as well). Therefore our main game changer is at the east coast where Canada and GB's capital are there.
