Does anyone have some advice for beating this conquest? The Soviets are really hard to beat.(also, why is Canada on Germans side?)

Now, about Canada, it’s a question of gameplay. Basically, to make things even for the crown (Central Powers) in America, otherwise the allies would have no further problem in taking the continent, which means that the spam that comes from there would start sooner ( and this means more anoying problems). Hope I gave you a good explanation .

(just asking so that I might not end up giving wrong info again rip ) Russia has the ability to crush the central powers early, though the first few turns might be hard. I got lucky in my game, where the allies weren’t that stupid enough. In St. Petersburg move gens away to a secure spot (where they can attack without being attacked) and keep building militia to fend off the spam. In the Ottoman front, do the same as in St. Petersburg. Also the cities near Crimea need defending (you know, south of Ukraine)(Ottoman gens will go there, just spam militia until they’re gone). While the spam has commenced, try to sneak some cities to lower their economy except the Ottomans. You need to maintain there until all the buffed troops are gone, then you can expand.

It’s really easy actually. Just ignore the soviets, keep building militias. Beat the Austrians with your artillery. they are weak.

All I remember of trying Russia 1917 was that Austria didn't bother doing anything while Germany spammed random units (and generals). However, the Ottoman Empire did like their full defense and I still took a big chunk of their land.

arrow for attack X for defense. for Tbilisi, gather your troops first and wait for the ottomans to come up. kill them then attack the ottomans

Actually, I'm playing it on Normal right now without gens, but I have max tech.
Let your enemies surround Lublin. Take Kharkhiv and wipe out any other attack troops. Then, send the arty gen, Dimitriev up to Moscow.
Ivanov to resist at the Saint Petersburg and Baltics before counter attacking. Saint Petersburg makes for a good base to spam inf, especially if you deploy the princess.
From southern Ukraine, punch into the Balkans quickly and overrun the enemies there. Link up with your allies and cooperate to stabilise this theatre.
From the Caucasus, hold the line and capture Trabzon. Try to link up with the British.
My strategy is like what the post above shows, except that I chose to move Dimitriev to attack Kharkhiv as opposed to attack Austria-Hungary above.
