Lan is the most cost-efficient general in the game and also probably the best non-aura cavalry general too. You absolutely want her.
Sakurako is tough as nails which is really important for crimean war. I’d say she’s about as good as Nelson even if they serve a different role. But Navy should only be bought if you intend to use a conquest strategy that requires it or for Crimean war.
Treville is a mini-Nelson with lower durability and damage, which is actually a pretty big deal since navy stacks so much def from escorting. So this is the guy I’d pass on for Nelson.

He balances out your team and adds to your firepower, being a cav gen with Commander. City and fort cracking shouldn't be too hard yet, so investing in Murat is good. This assumes that you already have Massena. |

I always thought it would be better to invest in a second infantry, as I already have an artillery and a cavalry. |
