On my Jackson, I have Strike, Surprise, Edge, Tactic Master, and Jungle.
Would replacing Edge with Pierce be a good idea?

Might work, but I already have stepanovic with pierce and he cant do much damage against infantry units. You might want to only have one cav gen with pierce in your team, and most of your other gens with edge. |

IMO,pierce on a calvary general would be better placed on tanks for your Jackson.Having Edge makes him better on any other calvary troops.I have yet to give it to my calv generals but Hindenburg.I might put it on my Stepa once I recruit him

Yes but not for everyone since it's quite costly and kinda destroy the variation among generals.For 19th century where tanks are commonly deployed, pierce can be very good in cracking cities while compensates their dmg % against other unit types.Edge is like flat dmg bonus like strom fort does for artillery where it's not luck based,but is only applied towards inf units.I recommend pierce if other generals have edge already

Mind you but I care about variation let alone versatility.I see value of general when he has something others dont have.If I were to make every general with TM,JF,MF,I might just delete the game right away.It's just not appealing anymore to me to continue the game.Everything will be so dile that I dont even choose the generals I wanna use on land.Each to their own

you will be sacrificing efficiency if you choose pierce over edge but you can do what you want if you think it's fun

You would desperately need it to ensure you take out artilleries without any counters especially art generals that dish out high dmg even at low health
