On the World Conqueror 4 Fandom(A site that is similar but is worse than the EFC), a guy said, "In the late campaign scenarios (Nato, WTO, and UN), and late conquests (1980), machinist becomes the ideal skill. You will want to put machinist on all tank and artillery generals, and replacement on infantry generals, and depot ship on naval generals. They enemy generals will kill your generals easily. Yours can't stand a chance against them, unless they are able to heal. If they can't, and somehow defeat one, then they would be very week, and have to sit in a city to heal. But if they had machinist, they could outlast the enemy, and would not have to sit in a city to heal. They could heal while they moved towards their next target. Machinist is a very important skill late in the game. Of course, you probably haven't gotten this far, so you wouldn't know."
Is what that guy said true? This is my rebuttal: "I went through the Cold War campaigns without a single general with a machinist skill but all of them except for Manstein have rumor. I am stuck on UN 1 because my general always die because the terrorist generals have a lot of health while the can also do a lot of damage. The machinist/replacement/depot ship skill is a waste of medals because they give you so little health(22 with medal) and infantry general gets wrecked very quickly and naval ships can have about 1000-2000 health at the max so +22 health every round wouldn't really help unless you are traveling across the map in conquests. That's probably the only time that healing skills are useful but the scenarios have a limited number of rounds and unless you want to lose a few turns, it's not going to help that much"
And that guy also said that ToI is very bad and plain fighting is also very bad.
What I said: "There are plenty of plains such as in Siberia and Asia and it makes it more strategic but there isn't too much of a difference and Tide of Iron will give you a slight bit less damage than what you will be normally getting when you are below half health but it wouldn't cancel out the damage entirely. It isn't that good it isn't very bad like you said.
Rommel can have all three tank skills or two of the tank skills and rumor. But Vatutin is worse because he only has one skill slot.
The combination of rumor and blitzkrieg will make your general avoid more damage than machinist can ever hope to do on a tank. However, this only works when you are engaging the enemy. The best combination would be blitzkrieg, rumor, and maxed machinist but that only works on Guderian.
I passed the NATO and WTO campaigns without a single machinist gen and you shouldn't need any machinist gens to complete the game."
