hi everyone. Im stuck at istabulat and cant figure a way to stay alive at the end. Cant find a guide and after many tries still cant figure a way to beat the british. I have hotzendorf, grant, jackson and sheridan as generals. Not the best team but cant afford more. Thanks in advance

On your lineup and tech lvl:
1. I believe if you clear some of the easier 1861 and 1865 Conquests for the sake of the respective Achievements, I believe you'll have the resources you need.
2. To increase the number of free gens you have, aim to clear some of the harder Campaigns from an earlier series. You can, at the very least, earn Selivanov, Loof and McClellan.
3. I recommend improving cav and arty for this mission.
So far, I used this method on both the Normal and Challenge mode. I ended up eliminating all enemies in both cases. Note: I have max tech. I used Luigi Cadorna, Sheridan and Selivanov for Normal. I used Cadorna, Sheridan, McClellan, Hotzendorf (max nobility and high rank) and MacArthur for the Challenge version.
Gen deployment: Strongest cav gen on the Sipahi Cav, 2nd best cav gen on the heavy cav, arty gen on the FA, best inf gen on the heavy machine gun and 2nd best inf gen on the new inf. Any other remaining gens on their corresponding units or the most suitable unit.
Strategy:
1. Squeeze towards the eastern side of the map. Let your cav units lead the charge followed by your arty.
2. Spread your troops at the back out to support your allies' attack on the central fort.
3. Defeat the enemy assault troops, avoiding the forts as much as possible. Support your allies using your inf and whenever you can.
4. Position your arty and attack the central fort with the help from your allies. Then, turn on the eastern fort.
5. During the attack on the eastern fort, quickly deploy all your troops to attack it so that it will be destroyed before the 2nd wave attacks.
6. When the 2nd wave attacks, support your allies if possible. However, your main goal is to defend against attacks from the west and southwest direction.
Position your troops across the rivers to use them as geographical barriers. This slows enemy movement down and allows for a retreat if the enemy is insisting on flanking you.
Avoid attacking units which you are disadvantaged against. Use your troops' advantages to overpower the enemy. Flank the enemy if your troops are relatively safe or if they are able to survive at the flanking positions.
7. Mop up the last few enemies and storm the last fort.

After maaany tries i did it. Followed your advice mostly but i realised that the western fort could be taken down in max 2 hits so i moved west after destroying the center fort. After west fort was out i pushed towards the east keeping my artillery protected and killing everyone who came near. So im guessing first fort should be center one and immediately after that west fort (it shpuld take 5 turns max). After that i move towards the center shelling the tanks and armored vehicle and Maude. Once they go its easy to go east and destroy the last fort.

Seems like a more viable plan which takes advantage of your allies' inevitable sacrifice. Quite bold, but if you have the means, I think it'll work fine like how it did for you.
