I’ve decided to restart EW4 again with 6 slots as I had already completed it f2p and wanted to completely finish the game this time, and my plan was 2 cavalry, 2 artillery, one infantry/navy and one Econ general. I’ve already thought of Lan and Sakurako/Golistyn for cavalry, Sophia and Isabella as artillery, Victoria as inf/navy and either Fatima, Arnold, or J. Bonaparte for Econ. Which one is a better econ General? And as well, is my general plan flawed in any way? Are there any generals I can rule out/fix? I haven’t bought any slots yet so I can still restart and get the best possible start.
NOTE : I have bought Arnold and have Golistyn and Doumoriez in the tavern. Because Arnold and Doumoriez are trainers, if I’m getting Sakurako over Golistyn I can buy him for beginning and regroup as a star and Fatima/J.Bonaparte can also be regrouped

The general (pun intended) consensus is that Princesses and trainers are the way to go. Dmz is a good choice as a starting cav general , though Dietz is maybe a better choice. For a six slot line up, I would say Lan, Sakurako, Sophia, ISABELLA, Victoria, and Fatima work well, though you may want a 7th spot for trainers. I'd suggest getting items before trainers, especially War horse, snare drum, and Armored carrier as they can be used by everyone.
Arnold is very valuable because he comes with 5 trading Stars.
You can check the no grinding, free to play thread. There's a lot of useful info there.

I'm actually not so in love with golitsyin. Compared with Lan, Sophia, and Sakurako he is very limited.
Sun never sets, campaign 6 has 3 all naval missions. Versatility is important.

For me EW4 is the princess game. I play only with them. Without investing 🎖 in combat generals, the game has a wonderful flow. Playing the campaign gives all the time enough for what you need. And you don't have to farm the 🎖 that male generals cost - For this reason is my advise so handy. One note If you start with conquest: Two cheap business trainer for Fatima are better than one Arnold.

Who is a better general, Lan or Isabella?
It's impossible to say, because the correct answer is both. The value of any individual general is more about how it completes your team. Cavalry generals are the best, but I think a team of all Cav generals would be less than ideal. You rarely get more than 2 Cav units to start your generals meaning you have to build units. This wastes valuable rounds.
My feeling, It's more about putting together a strong and balanced team than having the best generals. For that, I'd like to propose the best 6 slot line up:
Lan, Sakurako, Isabella, Victoria, Sophia, and Kate.
Only weakness is economy.

littlecorporal, I don't think it matter whether Isabella > Lan or vice versa because both will be in your team anyway
