This is the first glory of generals game I've bought as I usually stick to the european war titles, but I'm going to say it here, I'm impressed. It is definitely enjoyable and has an enjoyable campaign. I haven't tried the conquest mode yet but I will update on this post with my thoughts when I do. If anyone else wishes to express feelings about the new game, post them here.

Yeah this is the first GoG game that I really got into. Perhaps it's just the oldness of the first ones and the second being lame.

I can definitely sense the traditional GOG elements here based on the Tutorials.
The stacking function used is quite similar to GC:R's.
Now, the remaining bits that need to be tackled are the new features, how to manage the economy and city development, if any.
Edit: I'm really not into the unusual design of the sea tiles and navy movements. All land and air troopd movements or potential movements make sense, but the sea tiles do not. The potential movements are in between grids, same goes for the troops.

I kinda like that they have huge range since that makes them useful in land missions, but moving the ships themselves is just so jarring since everything else works on a different scale.

So far I really like this game. The maps are quite large, that makes them similar to original GoG maps rather than to WC maps. And my feeling is that it will be a complex game, because "special forces" will play significant role as we progress. It is a new concept, something like a talent of general and military tactics (know from previous games) combined. And I can live with naval combat as well. One thing I don't like is that we are forced to use specific generals to get medals. I admit it is an interesting approach and more historically accurate than usual, but I really would prefer my own choice.
