I needed a cheap axis infantry general ( under Student's price by hundreds of medals) to fill that role. I got that because I was ( still am) stuck on certain Western Front missions. (Arras Mercury I'm looking at you). Otherwise void both.

Why go for a cheap general, in campaign the generals system is competely different from before. Besides the historical lineup of 8 generals, you can only bring 1 or 2 other generals with you. So if you spend your medals on a cheap general, you waste one of the view slots on a weak general. You can win the campaign of 1939 western front without generals as well as some conquests in army group and atleast the Poland campaign in united front. With these medals you can easily purchase a top tier and strong general. Though I do agree with SolidLight , that student is a decent choice, one that I should have, but didn’t consider in my guide. Yeah students kit sinergies perfectly allowing him to hit extremely hard and even outclass some gold generals so in summary boris and cavallero are both equally pointless Though I definitely see the benefits of Student and his possibilities. I still wouldn’t choose him as my first Axis general, as you already have Model, as infantry general. |

Someone like leeb has way more value since his only competition is bock who is better off on a tank anyways |

Move your tanks and art near chania and wait with your inf after your forces have landed then paratroop onto chania then prioritize the southern cities before going the 2 northern cities also remember to support your land troops with naval bombing and air raids |
