In this thread i just want to talk about the leadup ta battle in army group along with how and when to confront you enemy
Troops= In this game and specificly in army group a mixed force of different units are leauges better than just 1 unit type arts are slow and passive, tanks are fast and aggresive, and ind are more both passive and aggresive depending on the circumtances of the battle and the importance of mixed armies cant stressed enough in my opinion as to much of 1 unit type will lead to defeat.also the more stacked the troop is the more aggresive and vulnerable to flanking they would be
Positioning= This is particularly important because if both forces are equal usually the one in the better position wins which is usually the defenders and your starting location changes depending on where you engage the enemy 1 example is strasbourg which when you engage from the north is block by thick and hard to traverse mountains and when you engage them in the south there is only flat land between you both so positioning and deciding where to attack cab be a huge determinating factor between who wins and who losses also you can get a good guess of the terrain if you just look at the map
Summary= I see many people blaming the ai's incompetence for getting your defending generals killed and lossing to an infierior army but in my opinion the ai is basicly the same on both sides and the most important part of winning a battle isnt the confrontation itself id say that the setup for the battle and the army composition far more crucial than how the battle is fought

Me in Army Group mode: 1 Tank (with gen) + 2 Armored car + 1 (with gen) or 2 Artillery (no gen) = Invincible group (Blitzkrieg)
I only use infantry (with special forces) for early game attacks, city defenses (best choice), paratroopers for tactical attacks. Infantry is not really valuable without special force.
