Here a guide, hope it helps: i used the free gens riccardi and ozawa and medals gens nagumo and yamashita. For this mission i dont have the navy medal, you can recruit all ships except the last one whit 100 cost, but is fine, you will have 80 supplys left and that can be used for torpedos. Turn 1 Put ozawa in the aircraft and move him close to yamamoto so ozawa can get the +15 atack from yamamoto skill. Nagumo in your best ship. Yamashita in one inf and move him to west islands. Move the other inf to capture the east islands, i guess you can use gudenrian in this inf, because he has 2 stars on inf but i didnt use him. Save riccardi for now. Also recruit any ship you can and use it on east.  Turn 4: use ozawa to help your allies and destroy the infs on coastal guns this also helps whit the kill objective. Recruit your last submarine and put riccardi here, he is gonna kill flecher whit little support(and also nimitz later). Move him west.  Turn 6: i played bad and lose nagumo, you should be carefull here to dont lose any ship, but this proves my run wasnt perfect but still was able to do it.  Turn 9:  Turn 10: you can use the suplys torpedos here if you need it. Also yamashita took the airport so you can also use the strategy bomber if you have money. After flecher dies, heal fast your most usefull ships and go for nimitz, he is in the middle.  Turn 13: all secundary objectives done  Turn 16:   I never thought about sending the carrier to support yamamoto thanks I'm going to temp this mission again with a new hope!! |

I still can't beat this...
Now that I've claimed my event rewards I want to throw in the towel and buy a general to help me now which general would give me the most ease of completing this mission and also be the best long term?

I replayed "Operation Bagration" in GoG Classic 40 times before I completed it with 5 stars and "Volgograd" in EW 5 no less than 30 times before I could complete it first time  Hey, that's what ET games are all about  |

Again, sooner or later you'll find the right plan and all pieces of the puzzle are put together If something went wrong there is no need to be frustrated. |

Donitz is not a 1 mission general. He has Wolfpack, one of the few on axis side with it & he is actually good. Damage is reduced by 30% from enemy air/navy. Nimitz is his equivalent on the allies and I believe they're both must have gens.
This mission is impossibly hard even with gens. Took me quite a few tries to get. Don't have your ships focus on the islands. In the northeast. One inf/ship can take it. Take over the larger islands immediately.

Easily on 12th turn I used Donitz, Kuribayashi (Got him for inf throughout campaign but was useful on a ship near Donitz), Yamamoto, and Ozawa. I had Model on one of the infantry sent to the far islands and the inf without to the nearby islands. |

I also have kesselring in my axis gen, but didnt use him in the guide, because it was gonna be overkill.(you can use him as your aircraft and ozawa as a extra navy gen) Keep in mind that in the guide i had 2 slots i didnt use so you can use any extra gen you have. Edit: I am dumb xd i just noticed model has 2 stars in air(same as ozawa) so you can use him in the aircraft and osawa in a ship. GL! Superb hints. I had little experience in Battleships. I did it with Model instead of Samurai. Btw. At the end i used carrier to find Nimitz on the very south. Counting better range than other ships saves Negumo till very end. Use Airfields as much as possible. |

Just asking, what is the minimum tech required for this? Navy level 3? Either I had Navy lvl 2 and Air lvl 2 by the time I cleared 1942 Pacific War or I had Navy lvl 2 and Air lvl 3. Not sure if he helped much, but I had hired Guderian by this time. |
