To replay an unsuccessful battle, minimize the window with the game and close it. Load the game again and you are on the strategic map before the battle. When the enemy is attacking the same thing, only the battle is inevitable.
Be sure to do this before the end of the battle, otherwise a bad result will be saved when loading.
