I concede, in this game Dowding is irrevocably better. Arnold I think has been done dirty with only 3 stars in air force and bad skills.
That said, do you guys think Dowding is worth getting? He has 3 stars infantry and 5 air force, making him IMO the best parachute gen (he gets morale boost every time he does a jump!)

Yeah, he and Student are the best paratroopers. But I don't think he's worth it. There are many more useful generals

Yeah, he and Student are the best paratroopers. But I don't think he's worth it. There are many more useful generals I like niche things, so I appreciate him perhaps more than he is actually worth. I don't think I will be buying him anytime soon though.

He is a decent infantry general, which is welcomed as the Allied side is lacking, and are every useful when you want to kill something (provided that you have money ). One common usage is having him kill the unit defending a city with air strike and parajump to capture it (super useful for an objective like Capture city X within Y rounds). btw, Arnold's Aviation Fuel skill might be what makes him niche because it allows you to do thing that you normally can't. But, yeah, he's not that useful otherwise.

Tried dropping bomber on infantry out of town, Regular bomb damage range is around 30 - 35. Dowding's damage range is around 55 - 60, that is +25 damage from his 5 stars in air force. I'd say it can make a big different toward the end of mission when you have gold to spare. I am usually prudent about using airstrike though. Not using it unless it would result in something significant like capturing a target city or destroying a target objective. I like Dowding because he provides the feasibility of airstrike while I can rely on Timo as a tank general.
