I just want to hear your thoughts on how gog3 compares to its predecessors not including "that game" for obvious reasons

IMO the only sad thing of this game compared to original is that it dont include the far east war campaign(china-japan war).
The conquests are different, cant say what game has better conquests, both have pros and cons, i am neutral about this but i enjoy both.

GoG classic and GoG Pacific were really difficult games and I am proud that I completed both. But my guess that days of insane difficulty of old times are over. Two last games (GCR and EW6:1914) were only moderately difficult and I think it was made intentionally to attract many new players. Now we have enough resources within the game itself to be successful. All that we need is patience.
We didn't have "conquests" in GoG classic and Pacific. "Legion" maps differ in size but there were epic battles like Europe 1943,1945 etc. I like those more than current "Army groups" mode... First, we could earn medals by playing "conquests" as well as campaigns. Now we have only one-time reward, that makes any idea to replay a conquest for a particular side less attractive, imo. Second, I am open to new ideas, but I can't say I am playing "Army groups" mode with excitement. These 6 vs. 6 battles borrowed from EW5 are not fun at all, truth be told. I would rather prefer 10 vs 10, or even 20 vs 20 units on random generated maps. But we have to keep in mind that the idea to separate strategy and tactics is indeed not so common in ET games. In EW5 its realization was awful, and conquests were without doubt the weakest part of the game. Now we definitely have an improvement on a strategical level. I hope they will improve it eventually on a tactical level as well.

I played both parts of Gog1 for the first time just before the release of Gog3. I liked the game, it looks decent even against the background of later games such as wc4. Legion Mod liked the choice of alternatives in the campaign mission (for example, defend Iwo Jima or Poland in 1939). In general, Gog1 is fundamentally little different from ew4, 6 and Wc3, 4. Gog3 is largely original: much is taken and reworked from previous games, much is completely new. Therefore, it is difficult to compare them. Just like comparing green and salty ...

For me Old Glory of General Classic & Pacific for have pre battle scenario & Missing Chinese Campaign(Maybe also Burma campaign due to Nationalist China also participate too) due to China Censored Policy. even in GOG3 have better Balance but for me Naval Unit is too weak than it should be. ETC
