Yamamoto is too expensive, and donitz is only in european axis campaign, where a navy general is not really needed You have 4 extra slots in pacific 1942 and since it's a mainly navy based campagin so you should definitely be able to fit Donitz in there. Also Donitz will obliterate other navy with his torpedo expert and comparing warning to logistics as survivability skills, warning will save you more hp than logistics will give. Lastly wolfpack will also buff nearby navy and combined with tech (if you chose to upgrade it) will make your navy much stronger than the enemies.

Yes but for non-pay players, you only get 3 generals and most want to save that space for infantry and tank generals that aren't part of the pacific lign-up

Don Quixote de la Mancha, who else would there be? Guderian, Rommel, Leeb, Rundstedt and who else?. You can pick and choose in the middle of a campaign which gens you want to use for that one, so there is virtually no conflict there.

My 3 pacific extras included Eisenhower, Donitz, and Guderian (infantry, avy, tank). You're able to fit 2 army generals which should definitely be enough.
