Honestly I use Manstein and Zhukov but I have not yet bought Rokossowski. I find Monty to be enough for me, I got him in 1939 and have yet to need more than 2 tanks. I did get Govorov and Konev though, I resort to artillery in the later missions over tanks. Konev is really only good in the snow. Chuikov is a free gen and does better in non-snow areas. Unless, you bought Konev for personal reasons. I fixed it. I was thinking of WC2 Konev and not GOG Konev. My bad xP I was thinking *I want another artillery general* during my Russian campaign, so I got Voronov and since then I haven't felt like I needed a third tanker, I generally use one navy or air or artillery instead.

So 3 artillery gens. I think that's too much artillery, but whatever floats your boat.

Perhaps IAP players go with Rokossovsky and non-IAP get Montgomery? Non-IAP Rokossovsky players have to play with 1 fewer general in later scenarios than Montgomery players until they get Patton. Honestly I use Manstein and Zhukov but I have not yet bought Rokossowski. I find Monty to be enough for me, I got him in 1939 and have yet to need more than 2 tanks. I did get Govorov and Voronov though, I resort to artillery in the later missions over tanks. Yeah sure IAP players can still go with Montgomery no problem. My main point is Rokossovsky will lead to a less flexible situation in the short run because you sorta have to get Patton ASAP to have 6 generals around.

Roko hits hard all types of units. In most campaigns you start with max level units and leveling up doesnt give a real buff.

Monty appears in 2 more campaigns than Roko. Monty is more flexible in this regard because with him, you have more opportunities to reserve a slot for another general. Also, Roko's damage per hit against non-tank units is a bit low. The whole point of buying Roko is that you want more damage against tanks.
