Worst general in the game given his price. There is still not much of a "bad price performer" in this game. All generals can be good, and price is (obviously) subjective. For example, I could love De Gaulle, and think he is worth 1200 medals. Or I could hate him and think he is worth 300 medals. He still is a good Support Gen, with good movement, Inspiration, tier 4. To be honest, only get him (maybe) if you have (for both the Axis and Allies): 1 Navy, 1 Air, 1 Arty, 2 Tanks*, 2 Infantry*. *If you want, get him before you get a second one of one of these. However, have a spare of at least one of these before you consider him. |

I'm starting to doubt De Gaulle's usefulness as a support gen. His gimmick is raising the morale of his allies and lowering the morale of his enemies. But, De Gaulle can't do both at the same time. To raise the morale of your allies, they all need to crowd around De Gaulle since Inspiration only has a range of 1 tile, which mostly prevents him from being attacked. This means he can't effectively utilize Desperate and Rumor to lower the morale of enemies. To lower the morale of your enemies, you need to put De Gaulle in the front of your army so the enemies will target him, allowing him to trigger Desperate and Rumor. This means you can't position too many allies next to De Gaulle, which prevents him from effectively utilizing Inspiration to raise the morale of them.
De Gaulle would have been better if he became an allied Student, still reliant on a morale-related gimmick, but instead of being an infantry/air hybrid, he's a tank/artillery hybrid. I would make him cost about 600 medals and have all of his skills changed while keeping his stats the same. I would give him the strong versions of Encouraged, Passion, and Garrison. Encouraged gives him an easy way to raise his morale and Passion gives him a damage boost from being in high morale. Lastly, Garrison gives him an easier time of maintaining a state of high morale.

Inspiration is meh, desperate lvl 1 pretty much doesn’t exist, and rumor is meh too.
I really don’t see the hype, especially considering Simonds and Timoshenko exist as great supporting generals.
I gave him a 1/5 personally lol

He has got 5 votes for 5 star, 4 star and 3 star and 4 votes for 1 star,so it seems he is a good general, if used properly.

Desperate: decrease 5 morale when counterattacking, bad on melee nonexistent on range Inspiration: increase morale of surrounding allies but never above 80, useless because it can't reach above 80 and pathetic range Rumor: Decrease morale of surrounding enemy when annihilating an enemy, weak effect with even weaker range. His stars are bad for his price of 905 only providing at most 15+ damage. |

Even as a spare support general he's trash, you're better of using Timoshenko or Chuikov.
