I put Gerd von Rundstedt above Yamashita, because if I have an Infantry Gen, I want them to be able to do damage and survive. But why have a general who last through the whole battle when he never sees any combat due to his abysmal speed.

So you put a fast special force on him. Even a Suwalska Cav is the equivalent of 4* in movement, at least fast enough to keep up with a tanker.

Also why use your fast special forces to help bring someone up to the team's speed when you can put them onto an already fast general and have him run around completing objectives at a insanely fast speed(parachute jaeger yama)

I try to keep my troops together. Also, I forgot about the Suwalska being allied. Put him on a Jaeger and he will be able to keep up with the rest of the troops. Even with Guderian on a Heavy, I still won't let him leave after my experiences with Calais in Case Yellow.

It just requires good tactics, and some infantry tech. I would get either Guderian, Kesselring, or Rundstedt, who appears in the lineup of a butt-ton of campaign chapters. Guderian to go on Medium tanks and to make the backbone of your force, Kesselring 'cause he's a beast in or near an airport with a bit of infantry , and Rundstedt, because he is an inf, the strongest unit in the game and has the best skill in the game, Fire Suppression.

Hello,
I'm also quite new to this game. I'm struggling a little bit on axis side in 42 Pacific. I need some better general there. I bought Heinrici and Weichs because I wasn't aware about the mechnism in this game. Also got Leeb and Vasilevsky and still 2000 medals.
Are there Axis generals, that also occure in 45? Is it better to go for inf or navy?
Beste Regards
Faxe

Govorv isn't a must if you rely purely on Chuikov or use Alexander as a substandard 2nd arty gen. The rest of the recommended path is good. A good Allied tank gen choice would be Patton for output or Monty for his presence in 1939, 1941 and 1944. For the Axis, Guderian followed by Rommel. IMO, a good endgame lineup should minimally have 2 tanks, 1 arty and 1-2 inf gens.
