Hello everyone. I am new to this game and I need some advice regarding getting the starting princesses - Sophia, Fathima and Maria. I choose FR98 for this (please tell me if it's the best or there are others). I am currently in Round 28 and my borders are -
North - Berlin (Massena and Moreau are present there)
East - the city northeast of Clujnpoca. Napolean, Dumoriez and Marmount are present near Warsaw
West - I stole a city from Spain and looking to take Porto.
South - I have not taken Sardinia and not started neither Naples nor African campaign, though troops are ready to attack any time.
Desaix is at Istanbul, helping the Ottomans thwart Russian invasion.
England - I sent Jourdan, a few double guards, a fleet of 3 ships and 2-3 heavy Artillery units there. I bypassed London though it will fall in a couple of rounds. Jourdan is near Liverpool.
Sweden will probably fall to the Danes. they only have Stockholm and no farms.
I know the importance of s/l and I saved one in round 15, another one is of maybe 22 and them 28. Please help me regarding this.
Note - I have no generals.
Thank you.
I was actually trying to follow littlecorporal's - Free to play, No Grinding Path to Victory.

The biggest help is adding taven generals to strong units. Adding Weselley to triple guards or light infantry will speed up the UK conquest for example. If you get Berlin, Yorke is also good on cavalry for more speed.
My only other suggestion is start in Russia ASAP. It takes a few rounds to knock out Moscow, but you can send Napolean up that way to speed it up.

I played for about 3 months before finding this forum and made many mistakes. I didnt even realize you could scroll down for more item slots, so the first response I got was Trotzki telling me that my snare drum was still there, I just had to scroll down. One tactic that really changes the game is flanking. The AI doesnt try to flank, so this is your single biggest advantage as a human player. You are often better off just moving into position first, let the AI attack once, then flank and kill. You need to have a unit on opposite sides to flank, then you will see the morale drop. Order of attack is also important. First flank, then artillery, then cavalry charge. Sometimes you get lucky and the enemies morale will drop again. Then have infantry attack. One other thing, the enemy will always take an open facility so you can lead units into traps by abandoning a village, and then flank and attack the next round. Since level 1 facilities provide limited resources, the 'cost' is very low. Spamming a 60 gold militia to save a level 1 city can be a waste of resources.

Yep I saw that thread 2 and 3 are just common sense 3. Thanks for the advice. I didn't knew that. If the AI threaten a village, then I spam militia and bring reinforcements from nearby and later move it to the front line. To distract, I spam a wooden fort as they attack it while under construction. (Got that from Trotzki coincidentally).

Just to add, princess run conquests and campaigns require slightly different tactics. Princess runs are as much about resources as speed, so you should be very careful with which units you build, especially ones that require lots of iron.
For campaigns, you should spend as much as you can to speed up the victory.

So spamming line infantry would be better than guards right.

For conquests, yes. Usually I just use regular units to flank and then my general units to attack.
