Lucklife , I have MacArthur (Only him ) I can deal with both Messe and Kleist by round 2, but I do not have enough time to mop up the troops, especially the once on the eastern edge of the map. I just need to clear this one. I can perfect clear later. You can kill Kleist by round two? That's a big.. wow just wow. I'll draw up a map then. I was thinking that I wouldn't need to, but if speed is an issue then... Map it is. Can you tell me how you usually play it out?

John Marston, clearing both Messe and Kleist by Round 2 is impressive to say the least. If you can do that, then the only advice applicable is to capture the airport on the eastern edge. Then, use your saved resources to bomb the remaining enemies. Unless you meant turn 20. In this case, use your Reinforcement heavy arty to bomb Kleist whilst he remains in the town on Tunis' southern end. The Reinforcement armoured car should be deployed to attack Messe. The troops pursuing Kleist MUST clean up the area between the rivers and the east. The troops pursuing Messe MUST attack everything on the west. The ships that show up may attack the ship in the NE port. Then, directly concentrate fire on the coastal arty inf. Afterwards sail along the eastern strip to clear the waterway.

Here's the map to help out. It should follow with whatever you're doing, as well as what's written on Nobunga's guide Deal with Kleist and Messe as you are. (⌐■_■)–︻╦╤─ The main point that you need to take note comes after you've taken Tunis. Quickly replenish/buy infantry reinforcements and place paratroopers on them. Jump to the eastern desert airport, and then further up to help the Americans. Place transport troops on your artillery if you can, and attempt to speed them over. I usually keep the KV-6 and Katyusha as part of the slower forces, but if your level on those special forces are high enough, you should consider speeding one of them over too.

Haha, I've never said I can do that everytime. My point is, clearing both involves a bit of luck (Either Leclerc and MacArthur's leader skill triggering, Timoshenko/Chuikov attacking Kleist twice in one round...). And when it doesn't happen, I just restart. I figured out that it's very important to kill both. Messe because the Italians leave their city empty in the anticipation of Messe and if I don't get him, then MacArthur will surely die. And if Kleist manages to escape, then all hits on him will be futile as he just replenishes every time, consuming too many turns. Anyways, thanks for the help Lucklife, Nobunaga Oda.

John Marston, I couldn't take them out at the start when I attempted a run with a lineup similar to yours. I had to settle for an attack on the two at their fortified positions, similar to the encirclements and sieges of Yorktown or Toulon. In this case, we just have to be careful with where and how we move our troops. Clear out nearby enemies and wear the two down.

Not for the damage, but for the morale drop. I just cleared the level but with a different tactic. I focused all my troops on Kleist, left the Italians alone and they just disappeared (WHAT!). That just helped a lot. I was actually surprised when they were no Italians. Also, the leader skill triggering is important here as with just 1 shot per round, it's impossible to kill Kleist.

John Marston, I think this might be the other mechanic of this campaign: The complete withdrawal of enemy troops. I guess it's because we rush in to take out the enemies, so we never caught them retreating from the continent.

Oh gosh, I never guessed they would actually retreat off the map. If messe retreats off the map.. has Kleist done the same too?
