1. Leeb/Badoglio- Both are Beasts, both will break your enemies into teeny tiny little shards of crystalline peanut butter. Leeb is stronger in output, while Badoglio is faster and has economics. I would say Leeb is very slightly better for Campaigns, while Badoglio is better for conquests, not that you need a gen for that.
2. Guderian/Rommel - Both are, I would say, very good. Rommel is better on a Heavy, where PL is better than Blitzkrieg. In addition he has an additional air star, which is useful in campaigns. However, Guderian is superior on a normal Tank due to his Blitzkrieg. His Anti-Armor is really not that impressive, except in select battlefields, knowing this from experience. Rommel's desert fighting is only good in Africa, where he can use it, but hey, it has the most terrain bonus of anything. I would say that it is like good ol' GOG days where he is cheaper, and superior to, Guderian.
3. Roko/Monty - Roko is the economic choice for a powerful heavy tanker, while Monty is far superior, but also a lot more expensive. Ace Forces is about as good as Anti-Armor, because you attack extra on everything, and having Machinist gold is never unwelcome. He also has a 4th tank star and 3 air stars. However, you look at their price tags. Roko is the economic choice, while Monty is superior. If you are a pay player, get Monty, if not, it will be a tough choice. I use air a lot, so I prefer Monty. Vatutin is not on the list, because he is slow and cannot be equipped with a speedy special force, and will die very easily.
4. MacArthur - The Best allied inf, which you need if you want to get through Pacific 1942. Another Option would be the great Mac lite, Tassigny, but he just doesn't have the needed output.
5. Kesselring/Yamamoto - They are the two best axis airs, But Kesselring can function on an inf while working air, while Yamamoto can't fly airplanes from a warship. However, Yamamoto does have Carpet Bombing.
6. Govorov - Best F2P arty gen in game, and for only 775 medals? Heck, yeah!
2b. Buy the one you didn't buy before
7. Patton - Only good Med Tank for allies
8. Rundstedt/Yamashita - Yama is faster, and packs a more powerful land punch, but doesn't last five turns. Rundstedt is 100 (!) medals more expensive, but lasts longer, has two more air stars, and can stay alongside your other men easily with special forces.
9. Buy a Pacific Gen for both axis and allies so you can do Pacific 1945. I recommend Slim/Mountbatten/Nimitz/Halsey for allies, Kuribayashi/Nagumo/Ushijima for Axis
