What exactly does Ace Forces and Promotion do? I know that Ace Forces increases the XP earned by a unit and Promotion upgrades the rank of all the units of a corp by 1. But, how does a unit benefit from these things?

But, how does a unit benefit from these things? If the functions still remain the same, the higher the rank of a unit, the better its stats (not sure if HP, Def and Atk all increase together). This only applies to individual units. |

The benefit of rank is equivalent to tech upgrades. Promotion of a unit from rank 3 to rank 4 will increment hp + attack/defense/mobility the same way as upgrading the technology of that unit from 3 to 4.
And upgrading a technology will make starting rank of a unit equivalent to tech level.
