As founder and leader of the Historical Society, I would like to set up a board just to ask me anything about history including my personal views on such. You can ask me about politics or religion (I think), but if you can, I expect that it will not get bogged down with discussions on them. This is made for history and discussion/answers on it. My area of expertise is WW2, so it may take me a tad longer to answer for other areas.

Ok so, just to get started, Gerd von Rundstedt, what are your thoughts on operation Barbarossa. People say that attacking the Soviet union was a blunder. But I don't believe so. Because All of Europe was under Hitler and Britain was going defensive. Attacking Yugoslavia at that time cost him the war. Another reason why he lost the war was that his allies were laggards. Italy failed miserably in Mediterranean and Japan awoke a sleeping giant in USA. I think that Declaring war on USA was a blunder and so was attacking Yugoslavia just before Operation Barbarossa just to satisfy his personal ego is not appreciated to say the least. Finally I got someone to talk about my favourite subject - ww2

Who was first to declare war on Hitler's Germany? Poland . Under the international law, all declarations of war were simultaneous.

The Jews, not being an actual country, do not count.

Gerd von Rundstedt, what about the North Africa Campaign of ww2. If Hitler had supported Rommel more than just giving 4 divisions, the outcome of the war would have been different. They then could have pushed North from Saudi Arabia and surround and destroy the Russian Army, Caucasus, Moscow I think.

For example Napoleon when he was fighting spain but, decided to attack Russia in 1812. I have also learned this in Age of History.

You have to bog down when fighting a two front war as managing resources and manpower is not easy in such case.
