This is probably the best modding tool out there that I know. I personally didn't discover MT manager and I give credit to Indonesian Modder for telling me about it. How many of you used to use apk editor but switched to MT Manager?

How does it work? I am familiar with APK Editor, but have recently downloaded it and am not sure how to take an apk from an app to mod it.

You mod by downloading a file instead of just taking the app. If you are trying to mod using Google drive copy it to files. MT manger is really quick and you go to Card/Download and then open it to mod. I could help you if you want?

If you want to get the apk of an installed application grom your device, I recommend: f-droid.org/en/packages/io.github.muntashirakon.AppManager/A useful AppManager. Its FOSS and without ads or tracker. Once you have an apk, with MT: click and view it. You can browse, extract and edit! the files inside the apk like every other folder or archieve. If you did a change (edit or copied files into) to the apk-archieve, you are asked if you want to sign the apk. With MT, for a single value change the whole modding workflow, to have an updated and signed apk takes 1min. You don't have to edit on the fly - you can keep your classical workflow and copy files into your apk, even ditectly from another apk. Or compare file and checksums of two different apk.

It also creates a small clone of the previous mod, so if you have a problem you can reactivate it.
