I like the idea of a thread like this. Basically, you pick a period of war you are interested in, and make a historical fiction story. The story doesn't have to be historically accurate (you could make up a future war if you want) but them being accurate and showing your knowledge would probably look good if you want to join historic society. I'm currently redoing a book I made for school about American WW2 pows.
