I changed the speed setting under options but the animations still runs so slowly, it did not change at all; the only thing that changes is the inter turn animation speed. Waiting 3 seconds for each unit to do their attack really starts to add up; if I have 100 units, then that is 5 minutes of just watching attack animations per turn! Is there a way to skip it altogether, or is this a bug on the windows version?

Yes I know about that, what I want to do is change the speed of units during my turn, the speed of the units during the AIs' turns is fast enough.

Get a faster phone, it sounds dumb but it is the only solution. Maybe you can download AMC and click on the game boost option and open it via the game folder map.

I should have mentioned that I am playing on Windows 8 on a capable computer. The animation is not choppy, nor does the game hang. Also the game can play out the AIs' turns at a very fast animation, this tells me that this is not a performance issue. I tried to edit the xml files where the animation sequences are stored, but this crashes the game.

My troops don't really have slow animations. If they do, I never noticed it.

Maybe it is a performance issue then, but it doesn't look like it. Are you also on Windows 8? How long does it take for your cannon to fire? Mine take 3 seconds, which matches the time mentioned in the effect xml fine.

Yes, I am trying to figure out if this is a Windows issue or an issue with my computer. I use my phone not a computer.

Finally somebody playing on a PC other than myself! My first question is,where did you get the game from? Maybe we can compare notes? I joined here hoping to find a solution to the isstes I have. stratthinker, here's the thread I started explaining my problems. european-war-4.boards.net/thread/370/looking-answersI've messed with everything I can to no avail. The schumucks at ET are about as useful as *Auto Corrected* on a bull and keep feeding me the same BS about the "Intel chip" but, I keep sending them e-mails everytime the game pisses me off. The last reply they told me they had fixed the problems with Windows 10! I wrote back telling them that does me no good,I keep telling you I have Win 8.1! I have only had the same issue as you a few times though. What have you tried to remedy it? I'll wait for a response before going further.

My first question is,where did you get the game from? I have only had the same issue as you a few times though. What have you tried to remedy it? I got the game from the Windows store. I went into the "effect_*.xml" files under the res folder and made the times in lines like <emitter name="cloud" life="0.2"> and like <track time="0.1" quantity="0.0"/> four times smaller, hoping the effects would run four times faster. However it appears that I also need to change the "sfx_*.wav" files too, and I might need to change other values as well. Hopefully I will not have to change the "*.bin" files. Note that the game only started to crash after I changed these values, and it is a pretty obvious crash so it is likely some values are just wrong (however I have not played as much as you because the moves take too long, and I start to get bored of looking at the same 3 second animation sequences over and over).
