So we have once again come to 1798 conquests, and this time, it is Spain. Spain is located on the western part of the map. This conquest is notorious for it’s bad location and worst generals. You only have 2 worst generals. Joyes on guards and a cavalry general on heavy cavalry. The navy general you get is fine though. Madrid, the capital, is a VII level city, whereas the others are underdeveloped. Let’s get started now.
Step 1 - Aplastar a los portugueses (Crush the Portuguese)
Commander! We have just come to know that a change of power has taken place in France. Napoleon Bonaparte, a military commander has overthrown the directors governing France and has agreed to help us out.The king thinks that this is the best time to occupy Portugal as the French has agreed to send support to defeat the Portuguese.
Objective - Completely occupy Portugal
As I have already said, Spain has the worst possible combination of worst generals and geography. It takes about two turns for your troops to start attacking them from the eastern most city, northwest of Madrid. Develop it into a 6 level city and spam guards continously. Your target - Porto. This city is important as once it falls, you don't have to recruit troops from far away. However, it takes a lot to occupy that city as it is guarded by a fortress, a siege artillery and also a factory, producing light artillery. Take it one by one. First start with the fort, then take on Porto.
This is because the fort will continously harass the troops you send. Get in range and you shall even be blown up by the Royal Navy - The British Navy. They have two ships in the Iberian peninsula (No, those ships were not Portuguese BTW
)
Another problem for Porto is that the unit there is triple stacked light infantry. So it would take a lot to destroy them. Send your other forces to take the level 1 village on the border and attack the fortress. Spam some artillery and help the navy general take the port near Lisbon. Though the Portuguese are small, but they are well connected and well defended with each other. Here comes the coordination part. While the Northern army group attack Porto, you must quickly occupy the Lisbon Port, provide support to the troops struggling there (literally) and also be out of range of the British ships. For this to happen, you must destroy the coastal fort for the navy general to help.
Hence, send your generals to destroy their whole army there and then wipe out the British ships with land support. Now, comes the real challenge. Destroying Beresford. He is a pretty good general and on a VI level city, he is hard to defeat, unless he comes out, which is rare. Hence, now focus all your firepower on him. Spam artillery if needed and take him out. In my Spanish run, It took me 23 rounds, with the cavalry general gone and Joyes being missed by a whisker. (𝘛𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘴𝘬𝘺 , I got bored then and quit, so conquest scores not available).
Step 2 - Africa y la Gran Bretaña Real (Africa and the Royal Britain)
Commander! Portugal is destroyed. But the king still remains vary of the French as not support whatsoever was recieved from them. The king has laid out ambitious plans to occupy Africa and Britain and rule the Western Europe. He even wants us to start the preparations for aiding our allies in the east.
Objective - Destroy Great Britain, occupy Africa.
It might be actually tempting to send your navy general to Africa. But trust me... don't do that. He is more needed at Britain. Africa is a cakewalk compared to Britain. Coming to Africa, as I already mentioned,
1. Bombard tunisia first
2. Destroy Agha first in Algeria because if war is declared on Algeria, he runs amok, sometimes going to Spain too.
3. In Morocco, first occupy the level 1 village, and then use the frigates to destroy the general on militia.
Since it is Spain, go the reverse order. This is a set template for the 1798 conquest of conquering Africa.
Now, turn your attention to the Great Britain - You must slug it out at London and southern Britain (any tips here?) Rowland is a pretty strong general and put him on London and...
Use your navy general to bombardthe factory near London Southampton as the factory is a longer way. After taking Elgin, wipe out the English army and Netherlands and land on the continent.
Don't forget Nelson! At the Ottoman's western front, Nelson, a battleship and a light infantry are present. Wipe them out by your navy used for Africa.
Step 3 - La venganza de los españoles (Revenge of the Spanish)
Commander! We have subjugated our greatest enemy. However, we still have enemies on the continent. The king has laid out the perfect plans for conquering the continent and the time has to establish the greatest empire in the history of humankind!
Objective - Conquer Prussia and Naples.
Wage a two front war on your enemies. Take your African contingent and bombard Palermo. Don't forget to take a land unit with you. Focus on Palermo first. If possible, stay out of range of the port. You can destroy it later. Once that is done, you can destroy the fort by spamming guards. Take a couple of them onto mainland Italy. Your immediate priority must be taking a facility, be it a stable or factory or City. Then, mop up Naples. In rare cases, Marmont and mostly Napolean will help you in this.
Now, to the North. If Netherlands hadn't fallen by then, steal some from the French. Preferably Weilburg as it is a tavern and near to the border. There will be a lot of spam of by the HRE and Prussia. Hence, employ the generals from the tavern and wipe them out effortlessly. Grind through your way. Don't forget to use the Machine guns as they can wipe out the enemies effortlessly.
Now, when you reach Berlin, tread carefully. These are tricky waters. Go around Berlin first, after destroying the fort. Take the factory and the stables. Now go for Berlin. I learnt it the hard way. Now, the mopping up part is simple.
Step 4 - Frustrar la invasión, empujar la invasión (Thwart the Invasion, thrust the Invasion)
