Massena, without a doubt. Good. that's what I thought, the discussion on the Suvorov post was throwing me off. Have you seen his skills and price ? Formation Master- mediocre Mountain Fighting- Mediocre on infantry Price in 1800+ for 77 general ability and 17 infantry ability with no aura. Why? |

Wasn't talking about Suvorov (though he was a boss irl), someone said in Suvorov Discussion, "Not really. Massena is somewhat crippled by not having a good terrain skill, like Karl does. He has lower output than Washington, Suvorov, Bismarck and Lannes. The reason why Massena is so highly regarded is that he has an aura and is really cheap while still doing respectable damage, but don't tell me that he's worse than only Karl.". That quote threw me off and is the sole reason I made this poll. |

Massena is indeed very good, if not excellent: high infantry ability, five very good skills... I would even say he looks like the perfect infantry general. Almost. Fact is that his nobility is stuck at Prince (which means no extra defense nor extra battle ability), and he lacks a terrain skill (no extra damages). Because of this, I have never recruited him, preferring Suvorov instead as my second infantry general (plus, Suvorov was famous for having been undefeated IRL, unlike Massena).
I would say: if you already have Karl, go for Massena, for they should be deadly when used together.
