I need some tips on how to beat this thing since I really want the weapon that comes with it. My main generals are: Attila(60), Nobunaga(60), Nelson(60), Li Shimin(60), Barbarossa(50), Li Honzang(50), Mocty(50), Bismarck(50), and the coin gens and free gens.

Sorry, lad, I still can't beat it with my current team . I think I need 3-4 lvl 60 generals more to get close... Zeus is tough and his minions tear my team apart on the way...

Even with my fully completed game I had to throw nearly everyone at it, and I've never felt the desire to go back until the last week or so as I approach the end of my current game. The only positive I've been able to take from this is that the preliminary battles could potentially be a little easier as I was too lazy to swap around the equipment although that is probably wishful thinking My hunch is that the answer lies in having the correct guys available and strong enough for Zeus and the towers at the end, and perhaps not using the full 6 hexes every time. I wonder as well if you can draw out Zeus's minions first by just deploying to the back 3 slots, but haven't tried it yet.

So basically I need to have a max team with good equipment to have a shot at beating Zeus.

Actually there was one more positive in that Zeus himself and the towers behind him were defeated by basically just Nobby & Li, with a little help from a weak Koxinga and Atilla drawing a few shots away from them. Getting to that point is the hard part imo, but pretty much yes I think to defeat him we need an archer with Leadership, a strong artillery gen + 1 more decent range fighter (archer/artillery)

Unfortunately my only recommendation at this point is to forget about it for now and come back to it later with a full team at lvl 60, at the very least. The only ones I know of for sure to have beaten it so far are those of us who completed the game years ago but didn't delete it, so andrei and me, probably yuanzhong and possibly Nobunaga Oda. I'd already decided in my current game that Aegis and Golden Mask are more easily obtainable first, and if the mighty stoic hasn't yet cracked it with a "normal" team then I feel justified in that decision. If it's any consolation Thunder isn't as good as Gungnir & Mystletainn anyway

Sorry, to disappoint, but I'm still stuck here. The topmost route is the best because of the blue icon building that guarantees a power up. I'm convinced that having two arty gens at the end is a must to deal with the cannons in the rear, but Zeus is untouchable by melee troops. (Note: I'm not sure if this applies to inf gens with the "Marching" skill.) If it were a case of player VS Zeus alone, an Archer-arty team would work. However, we would lose our archers in the first attempt to remove Zues' support. This doesn't account for the fact that the player's AI seemingly behaves worse in the Greek trials and the enemies can actually decimate your troops before you can even reach Zeus. I got so traumatised and became so desperate that I began to invest in some "useless" gens as fillers.
As for Iron Duke's suggestion, the enemy troops will move forward if they cannot hit you. Zeus should remain still, not that recall using this strategy on him. Without the additional back line for support, my troops get slaughtered.
