But then why is it not necessary on Medium Tanks? Assault has the same chance to activate on ALL amour units. And which tank has the most range to make use of the skill? Well what happens when you use Heavy tanks to attack Land Forts or Artillery? Then it becomes a very to not have Blitzkreig.

uhh no and also exactly, Patton on medium tanks and Roko/Monty on heavies problem solved. Patton is still very good on heavies, and like or not might be better than Rokossovsky in All respects. Also patton being a better heavy than Roko I can see, but does that make Vatutin any better? Of course not.

Simple, you can't take a counterattack if you don't initiate just let your other units take the fight. It's just like you saying Navy is bad because they lose to coastal Artillery.

There's nothing I'm overrating about him, I'm saying he and by proxy monty are better endgame generals than Vatutin.

I'm still using Vatutin on KV-6 in 1945, but have no use for Rokossovky ( I tried him as my KV-6 General it did not work), while Vatutin has won me several battles on KV-6 in endgame.

You've seen stoic's images comparing the 2 on the damage department and Vatutin is the clear loser, if vatutin cant win at damage then what does he has over roko? 95 cheaper? Sure. Survivability? Heck no. Speed? Heck no. Potential? Heck no. Hybrid power? Heck no.

Because Vatutin is easier to use compared to Roko.

I still think Vatutin is great general because he hits hard in general. But, I don't know why Port , believes that he is better on a KV-6. As others have said, you need panzer leader at the very minimum. Machinist is not necessary, but it helps a lot. But then why is it not necessary on Medium Tanks? Assault has the same chance to activate on ALL amour units. Ok, I guess I have to explain to you why KV-6 heavy tankers like these skills. - KV-6 has the ability to attack multiple enemies at once. (This is really key to the argument)
- Panzer leader + assault gives more chances of additional attacks. You want as many additional attacks as possible for a KV-6 in order to decimate a group of enemies because attacking multiple enemies means a greater chance of destroying a stack and triggering assault, which starts the chain of extra attacks. Panzer leader gives you a better chance to maintain this chain than a damage-boosting skill like tide of iron.
- Machinist is for making replenishing cheaper, so you need a very durable type of unit that doesn't lose stacks easily, like heavy tanks. Medium tanks are durable, but they can lose stacks faster than you think they can
As much as I disagree with eeeeef, on whether Vatutin is endgame material, he is definitely not the best KV-6 gen.

The moral of the story: Opinions on allied generals are very split.

The moral of the story: Opinions on allied generals are very split. Yep. Doesn't help that we only have two endgame tank gens for the axis: Guderian and Rommel. Not counting Manstein, of course.

Here's a quote that I thinks Is pretty fitting concerning this argument: If you want to always be right, you need to always be prepared to change your mind.
