He is considered to be an awful general, but in fact IRL he was one of the greatest Generals of the Pacific war. He conducted Okinawa with brilliant tactics such as not interfering the landings, or splitting his units into the north and the south. He also (not that this has anything to do with his generalship) was a great inspiration to his troops, and reformed part of the Officer Corps. He shouldn't be one of the best generals, but he should be better than he is now.

Desperate (for sure), Mountain Fighting, and elastic defense (?)
