I decided to make a series of guides on missions for budget generals (Lannes, Bagration, John, Hood). In these threads, I will make short, lazy guides for the missions and a review on the generals. This is my second overall.
Missions
Bagration I: Straightforward. Help Bagration kill Dabrowski and help Yermolov take the objective.
Bagration II: Send Bagration and 2 other units north. Help the northern army kill Lasalle and Jourdan. Meanwhile, use your generals to kill Napoleon and defend your city.
Bagration III: Just the free generals won't help you. I recommend a Massena or upgraded tech. Send spares to the other city and kill the Ottoman generals attacking the objective. Then use the Tsar Cannon to capture the other objective.
Bagration IV: Wait for the generals to get close and pounce. Don't focus on anything else, attack, attack, attack.
Bagration V: Uh oh. This is like Lannes VI. Use terrain bonuses, kill generals, then good units, but create and take advantage of the structures and form a defensive line.
Bagration VI: Attack the city, use your military strategies, but be careful. Leave a unit (with a general) behind.
Review:
For the price of 825, you might get a Davout Lite. No, not EW4's Davout. EW6's Davout. Which means a city defender. And he is not bad at it, with Alert (coastal cities?), Counterattack, Precision Strike, and Station. All of which, except Precision, are good city defending skills. But, cavalry should NOT be defending. Counterattack, besides defending, is kinda trashy, Precision is 5/5, when in offense, but defense? Nope. Alert is bad, for coastal cities, but that isn't reliable and there are barely any AI artillery to actually battle cities. And Station is meh, only good for defense. Precision is contradictory to defense, Alert is just plain bad, Counterattack is ok, and Station is below average. So average skills, but what about titles and ranks? Captain is bad, but Viscount is worse. Viscount will take a while to grind up, but King is very good.
Conclusion:
All of Bagration's missions are easy with proper preparation. He is also very cheap. He is good for defense, with 3/4 skills for that, but defensive cavalry is almost unheard of and Davout can be used for both defense and offense. Offensively, Bagration only has Precision Strike and is outclassed by the likes of Ney.
