Hey, i created this poll to ask you who do you think was the second most important in WW1, after Germany, and thus would be the MVP if it wasn't for the Germans.

Hey, i created this poll to ask you who do you think did the most in WW1 on the central Powers side, and can thus be considered MVP of the central power side. The question would have been better as who was the second most important central powers?

The question would have been better as who was the second most important central powers? Why? Of course Germany was most important, each of the other central powers depended on it heavily economically and for experienced troops.

I mean, just the presence of the Ottomans in the war was a threat to the brits and russians. Their participation created more fronts which helped the germans.

The Soviets. By causing unrest and Defeating the Whites they brought an end to the Eastern War and gave Germany a chance to throw everything it had at the Western Front, albeit too late.

Bulgaria punched above their weight. They helped Austria against Serbia, and held the Entente in Greece for a year. The Austrians and Ottomans had less than stellar performances and the Soviets and Spanish shouldn't be on this poll.

I voted Bulgaria as a joke, but now that I think about it, yes, they won the Balkans for the Central Powers.

Not without Germany and Austria led by the last hussar, but still better than disastrous invasions of 1914.

Both Austrians and Ottomans were cooperative and were certainly better ally than Italy and Japan in WW2. Bulgaria was quite uncooperative or Macedonian front would have ended in 1915-16 if Germany had wanted but they wanted it to remain so it can provide distraction against Entente because Bulgaria refused to send troops anywhere else so they Bulgarians will be useless after victory in Macedonia.

Austrians have last place. First place is Ottomans, because as Ludendorff said, they lengthened the war by 2 years.
