General Omar Bradley studied the map in the small room that was his HQ in Los Angeles. He had not slept for half a week, worrying about the outcome of the next battle. If his forces were unable to liberate Calgary, then the Soviets will have enough time to recollect and launch an attack to threaten Seattle. They had all of a sudden come in droves through Alaska. Main command had expected that the Reds would attack out of Korea, but Clark's forces lay useless at Busan. Yes, they did get an attack, it was just the Chinese, not the Soviets, attacking Korea. President Kennedy had consulted him after the Soviets took Anchorage. He was worried sick about the amount of troops cut off at Fairbanks in the middle of December. The Canadians weren't too helpful either. General Crerar is not as sharp as he was in Normandy, and it is now the Americans carrying the war after the RCMP were kicked out of Edmonton. General MacArthur is now saying "told you so" to Kennedy. JFK said to Bradley, "I don't want to look like a warmonger. I am no Winston Churchill, but I will lead my Americans through this damned war! Maybe Chicago or New York will survive this one. Maybe the Reds are just boasting about their damned missiles." He was also afraid of the reprecussions of putting MacArthur back in charge. It would make him look weak. Yet, the soldiers loved MacArthur, and it would be idiotic not let him input his strategic opinion. A knock on the door, and General Holland Smith enters. He looks old and frail, yet the Marines needed their best generals. "Devers was able to make a breakthrough at Calgary." A sad smile swam to Omar's face. Maybe they would get to Prince George by Christmas. What then? Koniev's victorious troops in Edmonton capturing Vancouver and cutting them off? Perhaps Vasilevsky will attack the last of his exhausted forces, and wipe out Devers' entire army. "Tell them to advance, slowly but surely in order for reinforcements to catch up. Suggest that they take Edmonton, so the Reds can't cut em' off by hooking south." As for you Holland, get some sleep, you look like you are about to keel over and spit blood. Smith smiled. Is this resigned, 50 year-old man, telling him to get rest when the former has been standing over a map worrying for 4 days? "General Bradley, I must remind you that we are equals now. You may suggest, but cannot give orders. I suggest you get some sleep." Smith walked out of the room confidently to who-knows-where. He is ages old, yet he still dances around like an excited 7-year old. Let's hope his marines are just like that.

You could make one on Allies 8. Why not on every mission? I'm not sarcastic, but it can be done. Allies 10, Axis 10, NATO/WTO and Alien campaigns do provide a storyline

You could make one on Allies 8. I was planning to do one on at least every Cold War Campaign.

I was planning to do one on at least every Cold War Campaign. Nice. And then maybe we can do Aliens too I accidentally wiped my progress before I was even able to start on Aliens. Yes, with Opera House and Pharos I was able to get to silver star Cold War 5, but that's it.

General Peng Dehaui swiftly strode down the corridor to Zhu De's office. From being in grotty apartments in Lanzhou, to a smart office building in Peking, they had come quite a long way. All thanks to the "big three" Zhu De, him, and Lin Biao. Lin Biao was currently putting down one of the last KMT outposts on the mainland in Kunming. Zhu De was assigned to cooperating with the Red Army forces, while he was to do the fighting. He had been facing a challenge on the Korean Peninsula. China, fearing for its own safety had attacked the US forces advancing to Tae'Chon. The Soviets took advantage of this, and asked for cooperation. Alas, Mao thought it a good idea. It would surely get him killed. He knocked on the door. A familiar voice croaked "come in." In it was a stressed and aging Zhu De. He had gained weight. The Cold War has not been kind to him, but has it been kind to any of us? "What do you think of our chances in Korea?" Zhu asked. "The DPRK will not be able to hold out on their own. We have a few divisions idling in the Shaoxing. It would be good to send some across the Yellow Sea to make a landing at Incheon. Zhu contemplated this news, and asked, "what about General Clark's forces defending?" Peng grinned. "What about them?" Zhu sighed. "General Dehaui, I have never doubted your judgement, but this confidence seems to have no sanity." "Clark has 12,000 Americans fresh out of training camps. We have 9,000 seasoned veterans under General Xinchuang. Liang intends on doing to Clark what Kasserine did to Wedendell." Zhu still seemed unmoved "Sir, if we can land at Incheon, we cut off Chung from his supplies. After that, it is simply holding on long enough for the fact of encirclement to settle in." Zhu sighed once more. "If you are confident that this will happen, then I guess this is Xinchuang's Army. The ones caught in the thick of it at Xi'an. The ones who finally broke into Chongking. This war is scaring the skin out of me. I am the friendliest general with the Soviets, yet I am still skeptical. I wish our glorious leader would do the negotiations." Peng wanted to give him friendly words of comfort, but there was no longer that closety between them and Lin at Lanzhou. The war had aged them terribly. When he walked out of the office, the hall seemed all of a sudden colder, and the smelly apartments of Lanzhou more welcoming. Oh, what power does to a man!
