I already have Yamamoto, and want another axis naval general. Why is Donitz seemingly rated over Nagumo when IMO Nagumo seems to be better at damaging enemies? Is there some secret sauce in Donitz I am not seekng?

Donitz simply has better skills that make him have more damage and more durability: Wolfpack beats Naval Gun Strike, Warning beats Logistic, Torpedo Expert beats Destroy. |

Donitz simply has better skills that make him have more damage and more durability: Wolfpack beats Naval Gun Strike, Warning beats Logistic, Torpedo Expert beats Destroy. Does Donitz hit harder though? What does Torpedo Expert do to the damage formula? I understand the extra crit chance of Destroy is basically worthless, I just don't really understand how the Torpedo Expert skill works. |

Destroy is a good skill; greater crit chance is always appreciated, it's just not as good as torpedo expert. Naval units will fight other naval units most of the time, so torpedo expert (+24% damage against naval units) is a very good damage boosting skill. |

Is there some secret sauce in Donitz I am not seekng? I brought Nagumo first for the whole Pacific, after that i brought Yamashita as second for Pac.. Yeah... No New Generals needed for allied side and i reached Last Chapter of allies side with only free generals Anyway.... i suggest you to buy Nagumo first..he dont take extra slot and u can gain medals if u luck .and he is only one 5 star owner of the Navy in Game ...trust me...u wont regret for him |

The more I look at the stats I am understanding why people like Donitz more, plus the idea of the two big Axis naval decision-makers is a story I didn't know I wanted.
Also, I looked back at Horthy and HOLY CRAP is he bad...

There are so much ground battles in axis side ..so..i think wolfpack doesnt effect too much if u take Donitz... and of course Destroy will do his job well. And also Yamashita will do his job on ground if u take Yamashita too. BUT..Its upto u.... Choose one All are great generals and u will lose one if you want one. Thats all. i claimed Nagumo tactically cuz hes only 5 star owner of Navy . Goodluck mates.... |

Is there some secret sauce in Donitz I am not seekng? entirely depends on your gameplay, nagumo is a big guns expert while donitz is a sub-battleship ( naval combat expert. Nagumo deals more damage to ground units. But donitz is better imo and the damage difference is not extreme Note: I reached 45 pacific with zero nav-air gens so if you are at pacific 42 you should never buy a nav-air gen. I almost perfect cleared 44 europe aswell and I badly need a nav gen right now. |

Still, Nagumo is a cheaper substitute that can also do well should you need medals for something else. |
