I wanted to see if it was possible to win this difficult conquest with only generals of the grand army. So I rebuilt my team a month ago. I already had Murat, Jourdan and Lannes, fully upgraded, Tréville, Massena and Dabrowski, partially upgraded. I acquired Ney and Davout. At the start of the Conquest, all were princes or kings and majors generals. Auras skills, and precision strike, assault, line of battle were at their maximum. And the terrains skills were half ugraded.
The difficulty with this conquest is having very strong enemies at the start and an increasingly strong coalition with the entry into the war of Sweden, Denmark and Bavaria. And in America, the United States is inferior to Mexico and Canada. I decided not to multiply the fronts at the beginning. The tactic was to secure a victory in Europe first before helping the United States as soon as possible.
The goal was to destroy Spain and Portugal while defending France against Prussia, Russia and HRE. And at the same time help Brazil. Then, to concentrate almost all the forces in the east and north europe, while helping Brazil and Algeria with a few troops. Aid to the United States was necessary to help them hold out as long as possible.
Several generals were given to France from the start. I decided to keep Napoleon and Suchet alive, with their tents. And Massena was keeping alive with the temples, because of his aura.
For the disposition : Napoleon, Jourdan given by the game, my Jourdan and Mortier defended France at the border against Prussia, HRE and Russia. And the 4 horseriders, Lannes, my Massena, the game's Massena and Suchet were in Spain. Tréville was created later in the Mediterranean to help Algeria and then to cross the Atlantic with the Masséna of the game and Suchet. Turn 16 : Spain is nearly out.
Turn 22 : Trévile created in Marseille goes to help Algeria.
Turn 25 : Lannes and Massena came from Spain to help artillery in prussia. An the cavalry is coming too.
Turn 30 Prussia has been destroyed just before Sweeden can land. So infantry and artillery defend the coast. And cavalry help the allies to defeat HRE.
Turn 33 : Sweeden and danmark are stopped. And now cavalries generals are ready to attack Bavaria before the expansion of this country.
Turn 34 : "Second Masséna" and Suchet arrive in Brazil. Colombia is already defeated.
Turn 37 : Bavaria is defeated. Now there is no doubt of final victory.
Turn 37 : US has collapsed. The conquest of america will be hard.
Turn 50 : Danmark and sweeden are invaded. Now it’s time to reach the british coast.
Turn 61 : End of great britain, Masséna is in Russia, and the second Masséna fight against mexican’s troops with Suchet and Tréville. Progression is very slow.
Turn 80 : The last offensive in america.
Overall it worked. But the United States quickly collapsed and I couldn't really help them. In contrast, Brazil defeated Colombia, with financial aid. This allowed me to land in Brazil and slowly attack Mexico during the conquest of Europe. For a best result, i could maybe send better generals early to america. So i could have save USA. But it would have be too risky in Europe.
